    QD`s and dust attraction

Does anyone feel QD`s (or certain one`s ) attract or repel more dust than others.

I believe that a good QD, when used with good, clean, static free towels will reduce the attraction of dust. Some QD`s even claim to have an "anti-static" forumla to help achieve that. I haven`t a clue what they put in it to make that claim. :dunno

I know that Zaino QD, when used over a Z2/Z5 coating did reduce dust attraction significantly.

i have actually experienced less dusting when ive applied quick detailsprays before i dry off my car. i just spray the wet car with a couple of mists, and dry with a microfiber towel. no streaks, and less dusting. i dont know what would cause it to dust less, i just notice it does. i do on the other hand experience less dusting from certain DS. turtle wax ultra gloss dust bad on my car (has carnuba in it). spray and gloss dust less. mothers doesnt dust for me either. but neither attracts that much dust when applied over a wet car waiting to be dried.

I personally don`t believe it matters what QD you use. I think that your surrounding area has more to do with how much dust will collect on your vehicle. Some days will be dustier than others...

true but ive noticed that with certain DS i attract more than usual. especially on the hatch of my car. a little trick ive learned to do with turtle wax ultra gloss which attracts dust majorly for me, i just spray the towel with 2 mist of water and two mist of the DS, and i get a lot less dust attraction, same shine.

If I could only find a QD that would repel "pollen"!

It is a losing battle in New Mexico. Wash....ten minutes later you have a layer of dust on your car. Sometime I wonder if the wind ever stops blowing here.

I am sure glad that you said that. I have been watching a Zaino`d vehicle of my wifes for not quite two weeks. I go over it everyday. A few of those days i did not have z-6 and used other qd`s. On those days it appeared that there was more dust. Now i have Z-6 en mass. i beleive that there is an appreciable difference using the ZAINO QD versus other qd`s on a Zaino finished vehicle.

I thought I noticed that Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss QD attracted a little more dust. I stopped using in favor of Eagle one WetNWipe and now I have some S&G which is very nice.

Yep, again, there are so many QD`s, and so many variables involved, that it`s really difficult to nail this one down. Dust is inevitable!

The only thing you can do is try to find a combination that works the best for you.
