How to care for fabric Corbeau seats

I purchased brand new black Corbeau seats for my weekend today car (fox mustang) and I’d like to keep them pretty for a long time.

    What should I use?

*i want to note that this is a fair weather weekend car. No food, drinks etc ever happen in here*

I am placing an order of Sonax products thru AG and I’ve noticed they make an upholstery cleaner.

    Thoughts ?

Striker- Oh man, Corbeaus in a Fox body...love it.

Why not just, uhm...live with them and not do much of anything except keep `em clean with occasional vacuuming and wiping? Many of my fabric interiors were light enough to show any soiling, and/but it just didn`t happen. I might`ve extracted such seats once or twice, but only in cars that haul the dogs; I haven`t even had to do the seats in the Crown Vic since the initial cleanup when I got it, and that`s the beater car, not something pampered like your Mustang.

Thanks fellas. Yea I might just spray some p21s interior protectant and call it a night

I’m about to order some Sonax Leather cleaner and protector cream for the other cars and see how that works out.

Personally I`d go with Accumulator`s notion of just keeping them free of debris and giving them an occasional simple wipe down.

The biggest recommendation I can make having had fun cars with Recaros (similar to your Corbeaus) and another with actual race seats (street/track toy) - Be diligent when getting in and out not to slide across the bolsters (either lower or backrest). My M3 I would swing myself in then "plop" down to avoid sliding against the fabric/foam. I`d also prep my passengers before they got in. For how much those seats cost, I wasn`t going to let someone else wreck them.

When I saw my Recaro car a year or two after I sold it, I found out the new owner absolutely massacred the driver`s lower bolster by sitting across it when wiring in his boom-ina-bam-ina stereo system. Really bummed me out because they were near mint when I sold it. I`ve seen other cars where the cloth is worn through just from people sliding in also.

And congrats also - Those seats look like a great fit for that car!

Striker- That behind-the-wheel pic makes me flash back to Bondurant...and the days when I was still young and immortal

You drove at Bondurant? Very cool!

Did you ever drive their Taurus SHOs with the Yamaha powered V6?

I adore those cars as it was my first ever car. I ended up owning 3 of them and two were of the last year 5 speed models.

My wife and I did pretty much their whole program over the course of a few summers (think "racing suits in AZ during summer" ), from their basic High Perf. class through the Advanced Road Racing course. Not my #1 Driving School for over-the-road type training, but it wasn`t bad and was a good primer for subsequent experiences.

No! Wish I had, those were Instructor`s cars when we went.

Yeah, great cars, those are the only Tauruses that I like. Had they built a wagon version I`d still have one for the dogs.

What was the auto version like? Since I won`t be driving sticks any more....

Like your typical ford 4 speed auto from the 90s Hahahaha.

The best part was and albeit a pain for Ford:

If you bought an SHO with a manual. You got the 3.0L V6 Yamaha.

If you bought the automatic version- you got the same engine as mentioned above but with a displacement increase to a 3.2L.

Amazing sounding engine above 4K rpms!

Striker- Heh heh, I`m so used to, uhm....old-tech automatics that I probably wouldn`t mind it on the street.

Is that red wagon real (and a real SHO) or a photoshop/etc. IIRC, when C&D tried to build a Boss Wagon project with one it was an incredible fabrication job that no normal person could ever pull off (and I`m not sure theirs really turned out all that swell either, lots of magazine project cars don`t..really...turn out that great).

The story goes that Ford did build a sho wagon.

After that many enthusiasts were putting that engine into a wagon.

Huh, all I ever heard about was the C&D project. Sigh..I do miss having station wagons for my dog-haulers.
