BlackFire Crystal Coat..How to fo first timers?

I purchased the BF coating kit.
Any suggestions on how long to leave it cure before knocking down the high spots on a section.

I was hoping Ray had some tips if he did one last weekend.

Unfortunately I`ve never used it. The client canceled on me. The directions on BLACKFIREwax.com say wait 1 minute before knocking down the high spots. Hopefully I`ll get a chance to use it soon.

Apply one panel at a time (up and down, then side to side), wait about a minute and GENTLY level any high spots. Remember, you`re not "buffing" anything off, you`re just smoothing out the coating.

Keep vehicle away from water for 24 hours.

    That`s it!

I may do my new truck with it tomorrow, depending on how much time I have.

But I normally do one panel, wait 30 seconds or so depending on heat and my paranoia level, then level

I was considering doing wife`s Ford Edge since I don`t need to do the glass roof. Dark blue should look really good.
Did you buy it too when Ray offered the discount after the giveaway? Great deal!

The Product Description at the Blackfire website recommends using a "flat-weave microfiber towel".

Can someone suggest a towel that fits that description?

Is BLACKFIRE Crystal Coat Paint Prep a must, or can CarPro Eraser be used prior to the application of the coating?

The towel you would be looking for is the CarPro Sued MF towels. CarPro Suede Microfiber Cloths 10 x 10 cm, 10 Pack

I would say BF CCPP would be my first choice to stay in the product range and get the best outcome. But I would guess that Eraser would be fine as well. To this point Eraser has work for prep for all coatings.

Re: BlackFire Crystal Coat..How to fo first timers?

Does anyone know if BF CCPP is safe for PPF, my order will be here Wednesday and I want to coat my E90 M3 for the first time but there is clear bra on the front of the vehicle and I know IPA can harm PPF so just doing my homework before starting. This will be my first coating as I have been out of the detailing game for awhile but getting back into it now.

Same here. Still haven`t finished my wife`s new car. I did 2 coats OGC on roof, 2 coats of CQUK on the hatch and rear bumper and 1 coat CQUK on the hood and front bumper. I will be polishing out the CQUK on the hood and front bumper and doing the sides and front with 2 coats of BF CCPC. I plan on doing some tomorrow morning.

Supreme 530 has two sides - one is plush and one is flat. I would use this towel because it provides plenty of cushion, and it`s also very soft.

I`m a stickler for following the manufacturer`s recommendations when it comes to coatings, so I would recommend using Crystal Coat Paint Prep. Eraser is essentially IPA with lubricants; Crystal Coat Paint Prep contains IPA, lubricants, and a cleaner that further increases its effectiveness for prepping the surface by removing polishing oils and other topical contaminants. Synergistic chemical compatibility.

Neither product is formulated for PPF (paint protection film). Immediately remove any over spray from the PPF using a dampened microfiber towel.

BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal, on the other hand, works great to protect and enhance PPF.
