    15` Mazda 6 GTi = **Decon & Coating**

    Hey there fellow Autopians!

    I plan on doing a complete Decon, compound, polish and finally coat my new Mazda 6 GT to protect it from the harsh elements out here in the dry hot dusty desert.

    This will be my very first attempt to coat a vehicle so I`m pretty nervous……

    I`m still trying to Map out which steps would be best to take for this procedure
    So far, this is what I have come up with…….

    ______________________

    Decon & Coating Steps;

    1) Power Wash
    2) Foam entire car with Meg`s HyperWash
    3) Rinse/Sheet/Dry

    4) Iron X
    5) Agitate Iron X w/ Grout Sponge

    6) Foam w/ Meg`s HyperWash
    7) Wash using 2 Bucket Method
    8) Rinse/Sheet/Dry

    9) Clay w/ Meg`s Clay Kit
    10) Dry while claying

    11) Foam w/ Meg`s HyperWash
    12) Power Wash to remove Clay residuals
    13) Rinse/Sheet/Dry

    14) FG400 w/ 5" Orange Hybrid --->> (If needed)
    15) SF4000 w/ 5" White Hybrid

    16) IPA wipe down

    17) Coat sections using Optimum Gloss Coat
    18) buff out high spots

    19) sit back, drink a cold one, and enjoy the view!

    I would add a rinse between 5 and 6
    I would use ONR as clay lube with distilled water and skip the dry after clay

    Other than that looks good. Coating flash faster on hot weather. Not sure how hot it is in Az now but work in small sections with the coating to be sure you buff out all high spots don`t have high spots that are stuck on and require polishing.

    I made a few changes to your procedure. I thought there was an extra wash/foam step that you were doing after the Iron X. I would just rinse off the Iron X and go straight to your clay bar. And if you have ONR, use that as clay lube instead of the Megs QD like JSFM35X said. It won`t leave residue all over your car.

    2) Foam entire car with Meg`s HyperWash
    3) Rinse/Sheet/Dry

    4) Iron X
    5) Agitate Iron X w/ Grout Sponge << I would only do this if you notice heavy bleeding. Agitating Iron X just allows more of the Iron X you sprayed on the surface to dissolve the Iron. It`s an "economical" way of using Iron X on heavily contaminated cars. But if you don`t notice a lot of bleeding with your first application, then skip the agitation since you have a clay bar too.

    6) Rinse Car
    7) Clay w/ Meg`s Clay Kit
    8) Wash/Rinse/Dry Car

    9) FG400 w/ 5" Orange Hybrid --->> (If needed)
    10) SF4000 w/ 5" White Hybrid
    11) Inspect paint in multiple lights, preferably in the sun to find any sneaky swirls

    12) Coat sections using Optimum Gloss Coat
    13) buff out high spots

    14) sit back, drink a cold one, and enjoy the view!

    Re: 15` Mazda 6 GTi = **Decon & Coating**

    Thanks guys….. yea, unfortunately I don`t have any ONR here.

    I do have about a half gallon of M#135 and a full gallon of D114……will either of those work instead of ONR?

    If not, I guess I`ll just spray the car off as I clay to keep residue from forming???
