If you have zero experience -- meaning the pictures you use aren`t of vehicles you`ve personally detailed -- they shouldn`t be on your advertising materials.

If you mainly detail Kia`s don`t put Rolls Royce on your advertisements.

exactly!!!! there are a number of "high end advertising" detailers in my area, but all I see them working on are everyday DD cars and mainly doing washes...

Ditto. Detail some cars and use those. Match car to your target audience.

Hint: A friend of mine is in the detail/clear bra business. He asked me and several other friends and associates he knows if he could use our cars in promotional materials. I was thrilled, as were others. He offered some free/discounted services in trade for our car images and it was a win-win for everyone. Try this approach or something similar.

I seem to be on the other side of the fence with this topic than alot of others. I don`t see any problem with using some stock photos in your advertising - to a point. On my website I only have one stock photo and the rest are mine (the stock photo is very obviously not mine, it just looks cool). My Facebook page has only my own pictures on it. But my newspaper and other advertising does get stock photos for the simple fact that I`m not a pro photographer and all my own photos have backgrounds that would need to be photoshopped out to be able to use for that type pf advertising. I think it`s fine to use stock photos as long as you do not try to pass it off as your own work. And you don`t use pics of Lambos and Ferraris when you`r in the business of detailing daily drivers. I usually use a pic of a nice BMW or something not TOO high end but a good representation of what I do work on every day. Just don`t steal someone else`s pcs from their site or something. Use stock photos like the one in my ad here:

I ended up enlisting the help of some friends/clients and they all loved the idea. They think it`s cool whenever they see the picture online or in advertising:

OP, don`t sweat the fact you have or haven`t detailed high line cars. It will come with time. What you need to focus on is highlighting the value of your service, not a specific car you`ve detailed.

The other thing is you don`t have to have a picture of a car you detailed on the card. A symbol of something, a picture of suds or the "idea" of clean cars, the silhouette of a car or something to that effect is great too. We are fortunate to have a lot of cool pics from cars we have prepped, but for each time I redesign my cars.. I feel even certain crops of those otherwise cool (in my book) pics are just too "cliche" so I never use them on mine .

    Grant,

Are you friends with everyone in Fast and Furious? HA j/k. That is a real nice pic though. Although I think I would have used a few less cars and framed my van to be more prominent in the pic. Other than that its great stuff. I am in the process of contact my customers to ask which of them mind me using their vehicles image on my website. All of them have said its fine by them and a couple said they will get a kick out of it. Personally, I would only use a car I detailed myself, however I dont see it as a form of dishonesty. If I have detailed exotics before and failed to take a good enough pic to use it and went and grabbed a pic off the net I dont think thats immoral.

Like others have said though, if youve been detailing Dodge Aries K`s and Le Cars and you throw a Veyron on your brochure that I would probably call shenanigans on, but we all know you dont only detail Aries Ks though

I am with Lotuseffect. Grant`s van should of been front and center in the pic. Other than that, great pic and nice selection of cars.
