I officially made the separation from personal/business recently and actually quite like how the new Facebook handles fan/group pages. I had my detailing page up over a year ago and hated how non-user friendly it was. Now, it`s a great place to filter all my internet marketing together... my blog, twitter, personal facebook, and just networking with friends.

I picked up over 100 fans in one weekend with a `gift certificate for fans` ploy that has temporarily stalled.

Social networking is where it`s at, that article makes several valid points. Not just for detailing, but for any business looking to increase web presence.

I made one last week and I have already gotten business as a result. At any given time, Facebook is the result of at least 1/3 of all internet traffic! It is the best place you could ever advertise!

Not exactly sure why, but I think some of my friends just don`t care enough to pass the message along. It`s only been up for a week or so and even if I don`t get a lot of use from it I have a feeling the SEO is helping a lot for my website (the ultimate reason for the page in the first place). So far about 1/3 new traffic to my site from the last week is from Facebook, which I see as a success in my book.

Internet marketing will take your business to the next level. Word of mouth will only get you so far.

At night, rainy days, I`m on the Internet grind. SEO and paid traffic sources will also help your business once you get the hang of using free traffic sources such as Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc.

launched mine last week...i have 10 fans. 3 of which are past customers. slow to get this thing going. I also bought some google ad words, put an FB link on my home page and have been monitoring my analytics over the last month. best day so far was a 30-person visit. many other days are from 3-9 people. However they are sticking around and looking at stuff-that`s good in my book. Average site stay is like 3 minutes or so.

    That`s good to hear!

I really like how FB allows you to see statistics for the fan pages. I cross-post anytime I update my blog onto my FB page and I typically see a jump on analytics for a couple days to both my blog and website.

The other thing I absolutely love about the FB page is you can sync it to a Twitter account as well to cover all your bases. I can take time to write a good blog post, hit the link on the FB fan page and in a matter of a couple minutes the content can be cross-posted to Facebook, Twitter, and an RSS feed on my site.
