What do you use for scheduling software? Customer Database? Work Orders? How do you have it set up? I have been using iCal and need to start using something else. I am hiring another detailer to start detailing for me and want to get all the scheduling, work orders, and customer database in order.

I have been thinking about Quickbooks, but that does not help my scheduling.
It is not worth doing unless you do it right

Simply Accounting, but scheduling you`ll find that you want a dedicated system for it. We use Time Clock MTS, which isn`t actually a scheduling software, but rather a time clock software.... Come to think of it, all we use is a whiteboard for scheduling.

I use QB for billing & accounting but for scheduling I don`t use software at all. I keep that as simple as possible and use a `At-A-Glance` Dayminder weekly planner.

    Has anybody used Genbook.com?

It`s fairly simple and not completely flexible....but it works for me.

    This is mine: newjack.genbook.com

It`s pretty simple for online appointment scheduling and it can send me a text whenever somebody makes an appointment and it includes a calender for the business itself. But there`s no feature for blocking out certain times other than for a single day (i`m a college student and i need to block out my times when my classes are).

I used Genbook before I switched to SkedgeMe. I found that Skedgeme had more useful features, including a mobile app.

Excel for scheduling and keeping track of clients, along with google calendar. Come to think of it, I have quite a few Excel files, but they all have their roles haha.

We use outlook and Sync with Blackberries. Simple and relatively robust. I schedule mechanic`s not detailers as I am a weekend warrior. Since I can`t help you guys perfect paint I though I add my 2 cents where I can! We book the appontment in ourlook, send a e mail confirmation to the customer and a copy goes to the mechanic. This automatically lands in his calandar.

Thanks to you all for your help.

Take a look at The Scheduling Manager from Thoughtful Systems:

Service Business Software including Maid Service Software, Home Health Care Software, HVAC, Pest Control, Janitorial, Employee Scheduling and Cleaning Job Estimator software

It does CRM (customer relation management), accounting, payroll, mapping, e-mailing, text messaging and more. Also has an optional real-time interface with QuickBooks.

    It`s affordable, too.
