Does anyone here know how to create nice HTML e-mails or News Letter type things that say you get from:

Detailers Images with their daily special in it? Looking to create something like that but i have not the slightest clue on how to even do that.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

You need an HTML editor. (I can`t help in this area).

You can do some really basic stuff with MS WORD and "save as" Web Page, Filtered (.htm, .html). I`ve done a tiny bit of that and it does work.

You need to know a lot about HTML coding to do something like that.

If you want to know how to get started, look at the code (source) from one of those emails and see how much coding is actually involved.

I`m really surprized there isn`t a cookie-cutter site to do this with by now. But I`ve done email blasts (for my web clients, not detailing). I`ve made whole HTML web layouts fit in emails, OR the simplest thing is to make up your design, turn it into a JPEG than have an I.T. company make the email blast for you and embed the jpeg into the email and the whole thing is a link back to your site. I can help you facilitate this if you`d like. I`m not sure on cost though really. It would be wise on your part to invest in a list of email addresses if you haven`t allready accumulated a lot on your own. you don`t want to spend the money just to hit 100 people.

very good points here guys. I appreciate the responses. I have however tried to check the code source of one of the emails i received like that from Detailed image and was not successful.

Hopefully i can get it down though. As far as the list of e-mails go i have thought about doing that a well. I just wish there was a way to obtain only local e-mails from my area as apposed to obtaining emails that could be from clear across the world.

There are sites on the web which have tools to allow you to setup and send HTML emails. Many of them also have reporting tools so you know how effective your email was.

A popular one is Constant Contact. Another is Campaign Monitor which is cheaper if you`re sending out a smaller number of emails. Another thing I like about CM over CC is that they don`t brand your emails. At the bottom of CC emails it says they were sent using CC.

Gotcha. I`ll look into that. Is it mandatory to use those places to send your HTML emails or can you send them yourself through your own e-mail?

you may know already but I will add that many email programs are set to convert html emails into plain text. OR they are setup to reject html period, since they can introduce hyperlinks and therefore viruses should one click through. Now many personal emails may be set up either way, but many many business have it hard set to only accept plaintext.

That is the case with web-based email services as well. They are partially called remote images.

It does look spiffy though when my dealership sends me those rich emails embedded with colours/photos/links/special offers.

    Hope that helps in general.

yeah, well that was my goal was to have it look a little jazzed up. I am by no means a web designer or anything like that . . . . but just want to send something out so people don`t have to download anything.

It would be nice for them to just open the e-mail up and have a little information about maybe my business a couple of photos and a link to my website or something.
