    Support your local printer!

If you want a gang run business card with major color change then order online.

The reason you can get cheap cards online is cause they print 50-60 cards at one time on a sheet. 1000 sheets at a time. Or in some cases 20 cards at a time on a digital color copy machine. Color is not consistant from start to finish. They don`t use a traditional cutter to cut the cards. They use a slitter. Meaning the print will look out of center sometimes.

The average business owner getting just cards probably don`t care, its all about the bottom line. But these online companies are killing real print shops. Printing is one of the last true trades where its an art and takes years to master.

Pay a few extra bucks and support your local printer!!!

Until Nov 22 use coupon code SITE20 at Overnightprints.com for 20% off

And one of my highest priorities is supporting the community I work in and local businesses; but the extra 100-150% I`ve paid area printers in the past for the same card stock/print quality/trim doesn`t warrant my patronage. If the turnaround was faster or quality was better it would, but cards or flyers don`t finish any sooner if they`re done 15 miles away or shipped from 1500 miles away.

You`ve got to weigh the price and shipping, difference in quality and your opportunity to build a relationship when deciding to buy online vs local. It will vary from product to service, and case by case.

    My Advice:

Get the best damn business cards you possibly can. It`s usually the first impression. Try to overwhelm the potential customer with your professionalism. I guarantee you that an amazing (not good or great) business card will help you out in the long run. People do not throw away amazing business cards. I`ve had cards done with hi-def pictures of a Ferrari 612 and a Veyron in various angles with my info on the other side with a black background. If you want to kick it up a notch, have them made out of aluminum or plastic. These are expensive so don`t hand them out to everyone. I have some 2 cent cards in the same format as MR Detail Shop which go out to the majority of the clients. The expensive cards go out to exotic owners, dealerships, body shops, etc.

this. Great color matching too. Our logo has a very bright pink key color and they did a great job on them

I would happily support my local business, but just like stated before in this thread... for a small business owner the price difference of local printers vs. online printers is too much to overlook.

My last order of 1000 was done through overnightprints.com as well and they came out very nice, so I don`t see where you are getting this warning of inconsistent color or off-center prints. In fact, I have had other business owners call me asking where my cards were printed because they saw one and were impressed.

I even live in the "Paper Valley" of WI, where you`d think paper prices would be cheaper. However, I saved $50 going online as opposed to any local printer and that is $50 I could spend for supplies or other marketing.
