Did my friend`s 2000 Camry today. First off, I gotta say... this is the car for people that hate cars. And the paint is very thin. But I wanted some practice on different paints before I start going mobile, so I did end up learning a lot.
First off, I washed the car with some Dawn just to get rid of anything in my way. Wanted to start fresh. Clayed the whole thing while it was still soapy. I then attacked some scratches and pits with the rotary, Meg`s burgandy pad, and 3M medium cut or Meg`s fine cut, depending on the area. Even had to wetsand some scratches out, which I was probably a bit too aggressive on. DACP`d the whole car with the PC and a yellow Propel pad. After that, I applied some of Meg`s Show Car Glaze with the blue propel pad, and cleaned my pads while the glaze dried. Took the glaze off in 2-3 passes about 20 minutes later, came off easily with no dust. Applied #26 with a gray propel pad. After that, I spent a good two hours spit shining with S100 and some chilled Meg`s QD. Applied Autoglym Bumper Care to all weather stripping and rubber. 303 went to the tires, and Invisible Glass on the... glass. Didn`t touch the interior, that will be a lesson for me on another day.
