Finished working on one of my clients cars (My boss`s actually). He`s trying to sell this Black Toyota Avalon (smokers car) and I could already tell it was going to be a challenge. There was clearcoat gone on most of the door handles, but I noticed the rest of the paint was still possible to fix. The Before and After is amazing....

Oh btw, this was my process:

    1) 3M PII RC w/ Meguiars Foam Cutting pad w/ PC 7424

    2) 3M PIII MG w/ Meguiars Foam Polishing pad w/ PC 7424

    3) Collinite 845 w/ Meguiars Foam Finishing pad w/ PC 7424 (lowest speed)

I am very happy with this setup, although it didnt take out 100% of the scratches on the hood, I wasnt going to try mostly because there wasnt much clear coat left in areas. The rest of the car is pretty much 100% free of swirls. Interior pictures won`t be included, because I forgot to take pics of the interior before I cleaned it up, but just imagine a smokers car, that was probably the hardest part of the car.

    Great job!

I find that i have the swirls shown in the picture of the passenger side front fender, rite where the sun is reflecting. Did these type of swirls come out ok all over the car?

    Thanks

Oh, they came out right away with just a pass or two of the 3M RC. Here is a picture showing the difference from the original paint condition on the passenger Quarter Panel and 1 pass with the 3M PII RC at a higher speed:

As you see, the lower part of the Quarter Panel hasn`t seen any Rubbing Compound, the difference is huge. So no, that isnt dirt below that fine line, the car has already been washed down, those are all scratches. Amazing, huh.

Nice job. I was under the impression that Toyota black was all single stage. Has that changed in recent times?
