    Hey all!!

Let me first apologize for the crappy photo`s and lack of them to boot. The sun was on its way into oblivion and my camera batteries decided to die. Hopefully I`ll get my hands on this beauty again under better conditions.

The car is a `76 Stingray Corvette that has received a driver worthy restification. Though it is a factory 4 speed car it is not a concours correct unit (was originally silver) but a clean driver with a warmed over 350c.i. motor. I know nothing about carburetors so I can`t give you any motor details. I know it starts when you stick the key in it and has a nice lopey idle.

This Vette belongs to the same gentleman whose bright red magnacharged Vette I posted a thread on a few weeks back. While I was there detailing the red one I saw this Vette under the lights in his garage and man did it have some bad rotary holograms. After I pointed them out to the owner and explained to him what they were we made an appointment to get them fixed.

He was very pleased with the detail and I hope he becomes a regular as he is "good people" with a super taste in rides!!

    The detail:

Wash with Meg`s Gold Class shampoo

Clay with Mother`s Clay Bar using Meg`s #34 as a lube

Polish with Meg`s #80 with a Meg`s 8006 pad and my PC set at 5.

Glaze with ClearKote`s Vanilla Moose with a Meg`s 9006 pad and my PC set at 4.

Seal with Meg`s #26 paste wax by hand with a foam applicator. It was an old school car and I felt like using and old school wax.

    Enjoy,

    Mike

That`s SS paint right? Do you keep using the PC pads after they get paint on them or do you throw them out and buy new ones?

How was the paint`s condition before the work?

Was claying a SS (if it was SS) any different from claying a CC?

(My neighbor has a `70 Vette in red that I will probably be detailing in the spring...I also have been approached about detailing 2 old Jags--late 60s/early 70s--and a 69 Camaro Conv in some very rare Corvette color...but I`ve been scared to work on any of them since I don`t have any experience with SS paints)

THANK YOU all for the kind words!! :xyxthumbs

Reid and Sean the rims are 17 inchers made by Edelbrock. Not sure of the exact width but I believe the rears are wider since he had a staggered tire fitment on the car.

Paul the car is a bc/cc repaint. I believe it is about 2 years old and was in great shape aside from the mess o` holograms.

    Beauty!

Those rims are reproduction rims made famous by "Eleanor" in Gone in 60 seconds- probably why we sometimes refer to them as "Mustang rims".

    Very nice ride.
