Ok, I detailed a drag car our school is working on. I didn`t have to do much since the paint isn`t that old, so here is how it turned out. BTW the paint is just over 5 months old.

This thing is going to be quick! And the best part is its only being built by grade 9 and 10 students!

Also, its going to have a v-10 going in it. Blower is going on it in 2 weeks. God this is going to be nice.

We are aiming for high to low 11`s.

Oh I forgot to say that I used Klasse AIO and high glose sealant. I`m going to be doing 5 more coats of the high gloss sealant. Going to be sweet.

    Awesome!

What engine is that from? Did you do any prep work to the paint? Was it wet-sanded after painted? Did your school do the paint work? Any close-ups on the paint?

Sorry for all the questions, but I`m just curious.

Best of luck with the project :xyxthumbs

Everything was done to the paint after it was shot. We had a local guy do it, he was totaled at 12,000 dollars, but we got it for 500 bucks.

Also, that engine is from a dodge ram! Almost everything is the same as a Viper engine, except, the head and stuff. We rebuilt the motor with all new internals ect, so we should get a couple of runs out of it.

This is my high school! Its just vocational things. I ge that powermechanics, metals and aerospace, microcomputers, and graphics. I really enjoy the school, but it has like 1000 people going there, so its kinda crowded. Its Murdoch MacKay.

Yip, the school pays for everything.

Actually, since I`m doing so much work on this thing, I actually get to take it for a spin in the parking lot ! Can`t wait.

Also, our teacher is going to drive it. He used to race a long time ago. He`s pretty good. But I think my bro`s regal would take this thing off the line. It seriously can`t launch. I think we have to adjust the torsion bars!

Could also be a `70. That was the first year for the Challenger.

I don`t remember high school being that cool. In my auto mech class, we hammered out gaskets from manila folders. The value of that, probably zero. I guess it does in a pinch if you have a thermostat leak and you`re next to an Office Max.

Buick-guy, you`re getting great experience. The car also looks awesome. That car should go like stink once that V10 gets dropped in.

ya, we don`t actually do this in class. We learn electrical and stuff, and how to do the basic maintainance. But the kids that do realy good, they stand out, and then we get to do extra projects.

And I don`t call working on a `71 ( thank you andriver, I lost my mind for a second there) Challeger being a homework jockey!

Engine is going in, in about 20 minutes. Can`t wait! Just finished getting the front suspension in and hanging the wheels. I`ll post some pictures when I get home.
