New client came to me wanted to get his land yacht BMW corrected and protected. Had a ton of hard water etching, typical swirls, and a good long decent scratch on the passenger doors thanks to a child’s bicycle!

Is the 3401 is your tool of choice for most jobs ?

Did the correcting cream remove the etchings pretty easy?

Thanks everyone! re-tired, yes, love my Flex`s! And the fast correcting cream worked very well on the etching/defects/scratches. Only thing left where the deepest of them. The water spotting was pretty severe and etched on this, but cleaned up well.

Thanks for posting pics of this BMW "Land Yacht". It just looks long, hence the "L" in its model name.
The one pic looks like it BARELY fits inside the one garage bay with the door closed. I assume you fit it in at an angle to work on it.

Did those bicycle scratches come completely out with Griot`s Fast Correcting Cream??
Is the paint thickness on the 740L indicated on your paint thickness gauge typical of current production BMW?
I ask because I wonder if the paint thickness affects how you approach correcting a scratch like you have pictured and if you re-measure that area after doing so.

It must be getting much warmer in southern Florida based on reflections in the pics of the detailing work attire you are wearing. (No comment from the peanut gallery about those bare legs!!!)

^^^LOL Lonnie. Yep, executive package, long wheel base model. Damn rear doors seem bigger or just as big as the fronts and open wider! Geez!

It fit straight in. I need to move some of my toolboxes around to give me a few extra feet of depth. That`ll fix that issue!

They did not. The deepest and `paint denting` that we see with scratches/impacts did not come out, however, they cleaned up so nicely, you can barely tell they were there. There was only a paint colored `line/imprint` left over.

Not sure if those readings are typical, I don`t do a ton of Beemers. But those numbers are on average of what I expect on a newer vehicle. I did take measurements while correcting those areas, just don`t remember what they were and sometimes don`t have the time to document.

And yes, the readings definitely affect my approach--pad/chemical/machine/pressure/speed/heat build up/etc.

It feels like summer is here. We`ve been in the mid to upper 80`s and have already seen numerous days of low 90`s. Rains are just around the corner I`m afraid...along with the increased heat and humidity. Come on fall/winter! LOL
