    2020 Tesla Model S

    2020 Tesla Model S Performance
    Red Multi-Coat
    0-60: 2.4 seconds

Client has been trying to get his electric boogie machine in for some correction and protection for almost a year! Finally got him in and got this ‘future of cars’ in. Paint was in pretty good shape for a Tesla, one of the best I’ve seen so far. Typical swirls, marring and sanding marks. Had a few chips I touched up as well. Paint was hard which surprised me. This write up is light on pics…I accidentally deleted a bunch of them!

    The ‘details’:
    Adam’s wheel cleaner.
    Adam’s tire and rubber cleaner.
    Adam’s spray and seal.
    McKee’s37 iron remover.
    Gary Dean shampoo.
    Medium clay alternative mitt.
    Griot’s PFM to dry.
    DeFelsko PTG.
    Scangrip lighting.
    Flex 3401.
    Flex ‘pixie’.
    Griot’s fast correcting cream.
    Optimum panel wipe.
    22ple Mistico Elemento Forte.
    Auto Finesse glass cleaner.
    Carpro PERL.
    Adam’s interior detailer.
    Metro vacuum.

    Thank you for looking!

    Sizzle Chest:
On this particular "hard" paint, does this change your approach for correction? Does this change which polishing machine (Flex 3401 versus the Rupes Bigfoot 15MM Mark III) and the pad manufacturer, type/name, and foam density/color (which you normally do not list)?
I see that the Griot`s Garage Correcting Compound and their Finishing Polish seem to be your go-to compound/polish system for a wide variety of OEM paint hardnesses and types (meaning clear coat manufacturers like Sikkins, PPG, Axalta/DuPont, BASF Coatings, Akzo Noble Coatings, US Paint, Velspar Auto, Sherwin-Williams, etc.).

Excellent detailing workmanship on this performance "car of the future" Tesla.
If there was any "doubt" on the performance-focus of this particular vehicle, that was erased with the ZR-rated "O-ring-like" side wall Continental tires.
Still prefer old-school ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicles for me, but no doubt those days are numbered and, unfortunately, much sooner than I care to admit or think about (Climate Change/Global Warming/Paris Climate Agreement.. like someone within this forum said, "I clean cars, not the environment.")

    Thanks Lonnie.

Yes, the paint `hardness` or lack of definitely will guide me as to what pads/compounds I use. I`ve been using the LC Force Hybrids of late. As for the machine, not really, they will all return solid results. Yep, Griot`s are my go to compounds/polishes now.

Yep, I agree with you as I too prefer ICE!!!!

For engagement, I’d agree. A Tesla is almost like an appliance and yet I still found it a decent driving experience. If you want to go, it goes. No revving of the engine. No dropping of gears. Driving a Tesla is like a video game where you press a button and it GOES. I’ve driven a couple AWD dual motor Model 3s that goes 0-60 in 4.5 sec but it honestly felt slower than that because you didn’t get any of the visceral accompaniments of ICE. I want a Tesla and will probably pick one up later this year or next, a Model 3 or Y Performance (0-60 in under 3.5 sec).

^^^They are cool. Yes, they just GO!! Had the pleasure of having a Taycan Turbo S for a weekend and it was bonkers! So much fun launch controlling it over and over!

I think either of those choices will be great!

Wow! That must have been one hell of a weekend. I’m a consultant and every once in a while I’ll get a really cool/fast rental car when traveling and the week is just so much more enjoyable. Gas bill is usually double a normal week too.

My daily driver Yaris....just goes. 0-60? It can do it. You betcha.

And when I want a little more oomph, I hop into my little race car, the 1991 Honda Civic with that extra 15 or so HP. (oh, what fun)

Nice work here, Sizzle. I see those Griot`s Creams are working out nicely for you.

    As always...Truly outstanding work!!!

As far as the "white" seats...
IIRC they are some kind of plant based product.
They are not "supposed" the stain or discolor...
IMHO a year later they are not as pretty.
If it were me I`d get custom seat covers.
