Beautiful work on a beautiful car.

The HD video is a nice bonus.

I do appreciate not seeing light surface rust on those brake rotors!

Thank you! That is very kind.

Many times (when using IronX etc.) it makes "light surface rust".
    Usually a good `ole "once-around-the-block" and it`s gone.

    Merlin:
What makes you decide to use Rupe`s compounds and polishes on this BMW`s clear coat/paint over Scholl Concepts or Meg`s new M110/210 or Menzerna`s??
Or are you just experimenting with Rupe`s UNO, so you keep the "experiment" in the Rupes line to prevent possible "compatibility issues" between using different manufacturers` correcting and polishing products.

Is it me or do I perceive that European manufacturers of high-end vehicles just do not have that much orange peel in their clear coat/paint finishes compared to their Japanese or American vehicle manufacturing counterparts?? That is to say, the Europeans manufacturers have taken the time and expense to remove or mitigate orange peel in the new vehicle paint production process.
    (Reference Sizzle Chest`s detail of a new C8 Corvette Post #9: https://www.autopia.org/forums/click...-corvette.html)

All I know is this is one glossy, orange peel-free (at least in the photos) Long Beach Blue Metallic BMW M2-Comp. As I have said, "The best cars in the world get detailed by the best detailers in the world." This vehicle and you are an epitome of that saying.
(Captain Obvious, you say that about EVERY detail with pics that Merlin, Sizzle Chest, Mike lambert, 512Detail, Scottwax, Justins00ss, Pats300zx, Desertnate, The Guz, BudgetPlan, Dave Fermani, Rasky1, Ronkh (RIP), Barry Theal posts. I think you are just jealous... just sayin`!!!)

Beautiful work Merlin, love these M2`s and glad to see one get treated by a professional! I`ll echo Lonnie, would love to hear your thoughts on the latest Rupes abrasives. I just pulled out the new DA Fine polish for the first time with a quick test on some single stage paint with great results and easy wipeoff.

Lonnie I got eyes on a new BMW M2 CS recently and can confirm HEAVY orange peel on that specific one, I was pretty surprised when I got up close to it. Not sure if it`s typical for the latest BMW`s coming out.

IMHO EVERY vehicle paint is different. Same year/make/model/color made a week apart can be different.
The recent consolidation of Rupes Blue/Yellow/White pads and polishes work together as a good combo.

The recent Rupes entry in the compound/polishes/pads has created some good off-the-shelf go-to products.
My only complaint (me personally) Is the Rupes Blue coarse DA pad. I just haven`t quite got the "hang" of it yet.
I`ve been hanging in there with the Lake Country Blue HDO for coarse correction (to me) it just feels better.
That said, I actually think the LC Blue HDO works better after it is worn (broken in) a bit, with the Rupes Blue.

That is a wonderful and humbling list to be on.
    Thank you!

    BTW - I just purchased a Defelsko PosiTector 200 Advanced body with a 200 C3 Probe for Non-Metal Substrates
It`s great for plastics, fiberglass, carbon fiber. Although expensive) I feel it`s a worthwhile long-term investment.

Rupes Blue DA works. IMHO S2 is a little stronger. I still like Megs M110 and 210!
Recently did a vehicle that required S2 w/Megs mf, S2 w/LC HDO blue, Rupes Yellow, and Rupes white.
It took all four steps to correct and polish the paint on this vehicle.

Again, IMHO Rupes Blue dusts less than S2. I`m a big fan of less dusting.

I went through the list twice. Okay, maybe three times. My name isn`t there....yet. [maniacal laugh]

Expensive or not, it`s a great tool to add. I`m sure most of the tools you use are on the higher end of cost.
It most definitely is an investment. If i did HALF the work you did, I`d get one, too!!

But I deal with mostly "drivers" in which the owners are looking for "clean and shiny" - and that`s fine by me.

Even if you use a HighLine Meter II Paint Thickness Gauge it is better than no gauge at all.

If you use a machine and you are not using a PTG you are polishing blind!

And yes, I have burned through clear coat polishing with a PC 7424xp.

    Lesson Learned:
Even an inexpensive PTG is cheaper than a trip to the body shop.

    Absolutely agree, Merlin.

I think mine is a CenTech or something like that. Similar to the Highline.

And I too, have gone thru clear on an edge. I warned the guy in advance that it would be possible, due to the respray he had done. He understood and was okay with it. Very minor, you had to look closely.

I used an inexpensive "china" PTG in the past.
There`s a saying "10% of something is better than 100% of Zero".

I`m happy I now have accurate "Gold Standard" DeFelsko`s
Sometimes you bite the bullet and "Do it once, Do it right".

Another saying "Quality lives on long after the price is forgotten!"
