Client’s brand new McLaren arrived a few weeks ago. This MSO spec is just awesome! Over 400 factory hours were spent on the $51,000 paint option. Just got him in now for a correction and coating. Paint is unbelievably incredible in the sun/outside as well as under the lights.
Had quite a few swirls and factory sanding marks. The gloss carbon fiber was a bit hazy.

wowzers as always. And wowzers to a new vehicle that costs as much as a house in a lot of states, with a $51k paint option yet it still needs correction. I understand how cars typically come from the factory, but if I`m spending $51k on the paint alone, maybe McLaren could have, I dunno paid you to do correction and put a coating on before I took it home? That kind of $$$ it shouldn`t have swirls. But then again if I could afford tthis car paying to have correction wouldn`t bother me at all lol.

And 2.8 0-60, I couldn`t even imagine. My car`s around 4.7 and it feels quick to me.

Was that center part of the rear engine cover difficult to reach or did you open the doors to get a better "ergonomic angle" in accessing that area during correction and polishing??
I see you used Adam`s hand-polish. Is this a micro-fine jeweling polish over the entire vehicle or was it used in hard-to-reach areas?
I also see reflection of a white vehicle in the door and rear fender panels in the photos taken in your driveway outside. What is the make and model of that white vehicle? Just wondering....
I assume this is a carbon-fiber body. Does this material composite and the type of clear coat used by McLaren change any of your correcting and polishing methodologies? As mentioned above, the unique body contours have got to challenge some of your approaches.

Are those carbon-fiber brake disc?? I assume if they are, you did not remove the tire-and-rim wheel assembly (to be semantically correct) from the hubs.
I also assume that the rear wing is adjustable with computer-controlled motors as the speed increases and not a fixed position. Can you actuate it (get it to move) without the vehicle moving to gain access to some of its hard-to-reach areas for detailing (or service) purposes??

Thanks for posting pics on this ultra-rarefied exotic performance car! It gives further credence of the adage "The best cars in world get detailed by the best detailers in the world."

I did laugh a little as some of the smaller blue accents at first looks like 3M painter`s tape that was forgotten by the detailer and not removed from protected taped-off areas during the correction and polishing processes. But that would NEVER happen.

Lonnie: It wasn`t too difficult. No, I left the doors closed, didn`t want to be tempted to stand on the sills!

I used the Adam`s Revive on only that spots that I had to get to by hand. Quite a few of these and some were large.

The white vehicle was a Porsche Taycan Turbo.

Yep, darn near the whole thing is made of carbon fiber! Yeah, like any `curvy` vehicle or one with many strakes/vents/etc, there are challenges, but, we have a lot of good tools available to us now as well as the old fashioned way-by hand. LOL The only thing that would `change` would be that CF `holds` heat differently than other substrates. It tends to stay `warmer` longer, so you need to watch heat build up in areas/panels.

Yes, they were carbon ceramic brakes. Wheels stayed on, but not due to the brake material.

Yep, it has active aero and I was able to move the wing around as well as the toneau cover.
