    2020 Porsche C4S Cabrio (992)

    2020 Porsche Carrera 4S Cabriolet (992)
    253 Miles
3.0 liter flat 6, PDK trans
    443HP/390TQ
    0-60: 3.0 seconds
    Top Speed: 182MPH

Client flat bedded his new Carrera to me for some correction and protection. This is going to be a black beauty when completed!
Vehicle was covered with water spots, swirls, some scratches and multiple hazy ‘thin’ areas where it looked like someone (the dealer, or one of their vendors) attempted to correct some areas with horrendous results…and just left them like that. These areas showed up as light or gray areas on this black paint and would only readily show under the ScanGrip lighting. These areas measured very ‘thin’—in the 1.3 mil range.

    The ‘details’:

    2BW w/Gary Dean Shampoo.
    McGee’s37 Iron Remover.
    Clayed with medium mitt.
    Adam’s Wheel Cleaner.
    Adam’s Tire and Rubber Cleaner.
    Raggtop top protectant.
    Master Blaster to dry.
    DeFelsko PTG.
    Scan Grip lighting.
    Ranger QuickJack.
    Flex 3401/beast.
    Flex XFE15/finisher.
    Flex Pixie.
    Griot’s Fast Correcting Cream.
    Griot’s Perfecting Cream.
    Car Pro PERL tire dressing.
    Optimum Panel Wipe.
    22ple Mistico Elemento Forte.
    22ple VM1.
    Auto Finesse Glass Cleaner.
    Metro vacuum.
    McKee’s37 quick interior detailer.
    GYEON leather coat.

    Thank you for looking/commenting!

I’d want to test drive every vehicle you work on. Then I’d need to bring them back and start the detail over. Great work.

Nice job. If that was a new purchase I’d tell my client he need a serious credit. Those thin spots will be deadly as time goes on.

WOW Scott! Beautiful result...and car!!!! Much nicer wing than on my 991.1. To top it all off...Crazy that they would deliver a car looking like this but not uncommon...I still love me some white paint, LOL.

Thanks everyone! LOL, I`m offered to drive client`s cars quite often...always politely decline! Never know what could happen.

Yep, those area can potentially be an issue in the future. What a shame.

Jimmie, I like the wing on the 992 better as well!! I`m thinking I`m gonna go ducktail...

    Sizzle Chest:
I see you broke out the Garry Dean`s Shampoo for this particular detail after posting that you has some in the thread I started asking if anyone used Garry Deans products. Any comments or initial thoughts about this wash shampoo and comparisons to other wash soaps?

I gotta ask how you proceed to correcting and polishing such THIN areas on such a vehicle? As per NY Yankee`s baseball manager Yogi Berra`s famous quote, "It ain`t braggin` if ya can do it!" Without an accurate Paint Thickness Gauge (PTG) there is virtually no way of knowing this until the inept and PTG "tool-less" (you say "clueless"; I say "Tool-less") burn through to the base coat or worse, the primer.

Thanks for posting ANOTHER 911 Porsche. I am all out of descriptive superlatives and compliments about how good every vehicle you detail looks. This "Black Beauty" reflects perfectly (pun intended!!) such accolades.

There must be some undetected or secret messaging by these vehicles and/or their owner to get detailed by you because they ALL seem to end up in your front driveway for pics!! (There is, Captain Obvious.. it`s called "word of mouth"!)

I know that the "decent weather" (AKA cooler) detailing season is JUST getting started down in Florida. Getting too cool up in "the sticks" (AKA forested area) of Northeast Wisconsin. Leaves are in full color but it does not last long; one good rain and wind storm and then the serious raking and removal starts.

Also know the car show scene begins to pick up down there in Florida, so if and when you attend any good car shows, looking forward to the posted pics from such events. Thanks for doing that!!!

Very SLOWLY. Take multiple readings. Less downward pressure, limited section passes. Keep the heat out of the area.

It is still ridiculously hot down here. 91-92 today and has been that and more for longer than I`d like to say...hoping for somethhing of a cool down in a month or so...

That looks like something Mrs. Sizzle would like to have stay in the "stable" a while longer!
