2014 Ford Raptor SVT - A Miracle Detailing - CQuartz Finest Reserve

2014 Ford Raptor SVT - A Miracle Detailing - CQuartz Finest Reserve

    Lighting:
Multiple ScanGrip MultiMatch 3. MultiMatch 2 and ScanGrip Sunmatch 3

ScanGrip Diffuser for MultiMatch 3 (Yes the diffuser works on both the MM 3 and 2)!
IMHO The Scangrip diffuser is a must-have accessory for the MultiMatch 3 and 2.

Without the diffuser, the sharp, crisp light shows swirls, holograms, and fine scratches.
When you apply the diffuser it makes it easy to see high spots etc. for removing coatings.

I really like this little accessory. I may even do a review on it in the future.
Just adding this little guy the Multimatch 3/2 makes a great shop light too!

    Machines:
Rupes 21 with a RUPES 5" Backing Plate and IBrid Nano long neck.

    Correction:
Lake Country HDO Blue Cutting Pad - 5 1/2"
Combo of Meguiars M110 and Scholl Concepts Shock 2 Cut Extreme Compound

    Polishing:
Carpro Gloss pad - 5" Dia.
Meguiar`s M210 Ultra Pro Finishing Polish

    Last Step Products:
Cquartz Finest Reserve ceramic coating on paint, wheels, and fender skirts.
CarPro Clarify Glass Cleaner on windows (My new favorite)

360 walk-around video - Please click bottom Gear for HD Quality 1080p w/audio

After wash and decon, all areas were taped off before paint correction and polishing.
CarPro Automotive Masking Tape is my favorite tape product for applying, sticking, and removal.

    The Front.

Notice the ScanGrip Diffuser on the MultiMatch 3`s in these pics.

    Polished and coated.

    The End!

    Thanks for Looking!

    Merlin:
You are one of the "few" professional detailers I see posting any comments on Meg`s new Professional M110 compound and M210 .
Just wondering WHY you chose to use Scholl Concepts Shock 2 Extreme Cut Compound sometimes and where on this vehicle you chose to do so.
Which of these car-care product manufacturers (Megs versus Scholl Concepts) do you prefer??

Yes, please do post your thoughts and opinions in the light diffuser. I would think, though, that the subtle lighting differences might be difficult to see in photos and may best be experienced up-close-and-in-person.

AND, what, no Merlin shot with this vehicle?? Nice tape job with the red CarPro masking tape! (Don`t laugh; taping off trim and body edges NEATLY is a real detailing skill and art-form.)

Mike - Absolutely Beautiful Results !!! Thank you for this !!!

And also loved how you tape just like me ! Only 1 continuous tape run all the way around as much as possible = way easy to just pull it all off later..
In Auto Painting, there is no other way to do this, if you want to be certain there are no little "leaks" that create way more work for you later..

Have Detailed a couple of those dang monster Raptors !! It IS a LOT of Truck !!! And then it is so tall !

Loved the diffuser; I have the first Generation Scan Grip lights and am wondering if that lens will fit them or not... Will get some time and contact the people direct..

    You are Killing it !

Hope you guys are continuing to be safe and well !!

IMHO all these comments are my humble opinion.

    1) M110 has less cut than M101 and M105 (I haven`t used M105 in a long time) it finishes well and it`s easy to work with.
    2) M210 again IMHO, finishes nicer that M205, it`s even easier to worth with and it has a lot less dusting.
    3) M110 and M210 are the latest creations from Meg`s R&D and are a huge improvement over M105 and M205.
    4) Scholl Concepts Shock 2 Extreme Cut Compound has a more aggressive cut and even less dusting than M110.

IMHO I don`t believe M110 was designed to be as aggressive as M105. M110 is a lot friendlier to work with!

So if I need more cut than M110, I use a couple of drops of Scholl Concepts Shock 2 Extreme Cut Compound.
This 2 drop of each combo, gives me more cut than M110 alone, less dusting than M110 alone, and a pretty nice finish.

OK, I`ll do a mini-review on the Scangrip diffuser for the Multimatch 8 and 3 (yes, the MM3 diffuser also works on the Multimatch 2)
Yes, indoors the diffuser makes a huge difference. The Multimatch gives off a sharp light that really finds the swirls and imperfections.
The diffuser creates a great ambient shop light. I`m using them all the time now for soft shop lighting. You can never have enough lighting.

The Scangrip lighting can be harsh and make a career about of doing paint correction that shows flaws that you do not see in the sunlight.
Sadly it was pouring down rain during this detail so it was done completely indoors. I like using the sun for a visual inspection and palm tree pic.

Thank you! That is very kind.

Yes, it takes time (and a lot of tape) to tape off the vehicle correctly but then for the cost of the tape and a little time I feel much safer when compounding.

I have the Scangrip Version 1, 2, and 3 and I found the ver 3 diffuser will work on Ver 2 and 3 but the light itself is different on Ver 1 and it does not attach.

Thank you again! Stay safe...it`s not over yet! Living through this plague I realize now why the Renaissance paintings showed a lot of fat naked Italians.
