2018 Mustang GT Corrected & Polished

It`s been over 6 months since the Mustang has received a proper polish a detail, so I thought I`d get some pictures for posterity before going into the hot weather.

Due to a large portion of the garage ceiling falling on the car back in October, I did paint corrections back in November. There were no less than 20 defects to attend to, and by the time I was done with that (in late November) I was in no mood to hone and jewel the paint. Until last month.

    Prep:
Pretreated with Poorboy`s Bug Squash to loosen road film and bugs, pressure-rinsed.
Waterless/rinseless washed with whatver was in reach.
Clayed with McKees Universal Detailing Clay with HiTemp Clay Lube.

    Correction:
Spot corrections with Menzerna 400 on LC Orange and 3.25 microfiber cutting pad.
Griots Fast Correction Cream on Rupes UHS pad.

    Polish & Jewel:
Menzerna 2500 and 3800 on LC Green Flats and Black CCS, various sizes.

    Wheels:
    Pressure-spray then QD to clean.
    Gyeon Wet Coat.

    LSP:
    Gtechniq C2 V3 Liquid Crystal
Polish Angel Presto or CarPro Ech2o for more pop
P21S and Mitchell & King wax here and there

    Trim & Tires:
Gyeon Preserve on most hard plastics.
1Z Gummi Pflege Stift on seals and gaskets.
    CG VRP on tires

Waxed door jams and Gummi Pfledge Stiff`d trim

These late model Mustang deck lids are hard to keep defect-free. They swirl and scratch if you look at them sternly.

The color and gloss reflection are AWESOME!
Wish there were some pics of the interior.

Thank you Lonnie. I just used my trusty old Griots G6, with 4" and 5" backing plates. The last bit of gloss was extracted on speed 3 using Menz 3800 and using a gradually-less-presure technique. For instance, the first pass is with normal pressue, second pass light pressure, and by the third pass I`m just skating the pad accross the paint and moving fairly fast.

The interior is nothing special, detailing wise, as the car doesn`t get too bad inside. Just a quick vacuum and wipe, and it`s like new. And it`s black, so pictures are kinda "meh".

    Hermano !
Hope you and yours are well and safe up there..

Wow !!! Just Beautiful gloss, clarity, and color !!!
In the full sun it has to be beautifully blinding !!!
That is the most perfect shade of metallic blue ever..

Thank you for all the hard work - am glad that it survived the garage ceiling incident..
