    2020 GT350R...hammered!

    2020 Ford Mustang GT350R
    Shadow black
    5.2 liter V8, manual trans
    527HP/429TQ
    0-60 3.7sec
    180MPH top speed
    515 miles

New client of mine. He just received delivery of this vehicle. It had the DISO installed…one of the better jobs I’ve seen…LOL. The whole vehicle was a mess. Swirl city. Heavier scratches, dull lifeless paint due to so many defects. Thin spots/burn spots where someone attempted to correct some heavier defects in the driver’s front fender. A total shame for a brand new vehicle to be delivered in this condition.

    The ‘details’:

    Blackfire foam shampoo.
    Medium clay mitt.
    McKee’s 37 iron remover.
    Adam’s tire and wheel cleaner.
    Misc. brushes, mitts, etc.
    DeFelsko PTG.
    Flex 3401
    Flex XFE15—until backing plate broke.
    Rupes Mark III 21
    Misc. foam pads.
    Griot’s fast correcting cream.
    Griot’s perfecting cream.
    Adam`s Revive Hand Polish.
    Optimum panel wipe
    22ple Mistico Elemento Forte.
    22ple VM1.
    McKee’s37 APC.
    McKee’s37 high gloss tire dressing.
    SCG Pro glass cleaner.
    Metro vacuum.
    Scangrip lighting.
    Ranger quick jack.

    Thin/burnt area:

    Swirl/scratch city:

    Wheels...dusted!

    Initial hit:

    Getting there!

    Great "save"!
I see you are in Florida. I would have guessed that car sat under the snow in the midwest with the lot guy pushing snow off it with a broom!

Thanks all! Yes, it was severely abused...and just goes to show what damage can be done with poor technique!

    Sizzle Chest:
My questions are (you did not think Captain Obvious would not ask):
    1) How many hours of use did you have on the Flex XFE15 backing plate that broke? OR was it a design/material/manufacturing defect? Warranty claim eligible??
    2) What did you do to the burn-through areas? Touch-up paint and compound OR just leave it as-is and fix the area around it as best can be done?
    3) Why did you use the Adam`s Revive Hand Polish and what did it "add" to perfecting this black paint and is it applied by hand ONLY or can it be machine-applied?
    4) Do you know if the owner is going back to the dealer to negotiate paying for some or all of the cost of your detailing services to correct/fix the dealer`s faux pas??
    5) Is the Ranger Quick Jack model you use designed specifically for low-profile cars, like the many that you detail??

This is the second new high-performance Mustang you have corrected/perfected recently. Coincidence??
Maybe your detailing services need to a "standard equipment by manufacturer" on such cars and not a dealer add-on.

That is one mean (and now perfected) black Mustang. Thanks for sharing pics and methods.

    2) What did you do to the burn-through areas? Touch-up paint and compound OR just leave it as-is and fix the area around it as best can be done? I delicately corrected it the best I could. It removed a lot of the circular haze that you saw from the previous persons pad.
    3) Why did you use the Adam`s Revive Hand Polish and what did it "add" to perfecting this black paint and is it applied by hand ONLY or can it be machine-applied? I used this on the wheels only, they are carbon fiber and VERY delicate. I`m sure you could use it with a machine as well.
    4) Do you know if the owner is going back to the dealer to negotiate paying for some or all of the cost of your detailing services to correct/fix the dealer`s faux pas?? He purchased out of state and sight unseen, they are unwilling to assist.
    5) Is the Ranger Quick Jack model you use designed specifically for low-profile cars, like the many that you detail?? It is. Has a nice low profile.

This is the second new high-performance Mustang you have corrected/perfected recently. Coincidence??

Nice job-- very nice work your doing there

But I do think that your client lied to you- NO WAY that car was delivered like that-- he has had that car for a while and did a one bucket wash with a wal mart wash mitt and cleaned the wheels first

    Another great job.

It`s a shame a new car had burnt paint.
