2018 Audi A7 3.0 liter Supercharged V6, 340HP/325TQ Mythos Black Metallic 2,022 miles
Client of mine upped his Audi game with this brand new A7. It is a heck of a machine!
Typical dealer installed swirls (DISO), holograms, a lot of water spotting, some marring, scuffs and medium grade scratches.
It’s getting a paint correction/coating and it will be protected for years to come as well as making maintenance a dream!
Correction was around 80-85%, which fits my client’s maintenance regiment just fine…unfortunately; this vehicle sees the local car wash for maintenance washes…
The ‘details’:
Washed with Adam’s Shampoo.
Clayed with Griot’s medium mitt.
Wheels/tires: Beta test wheel and tire/rubber cleaner AIO.
Wheels sealed with McKee’s37 Hydro Blue.
Dried via Master Blaster.
DeFelsko PTG.
Scangrip lighting.
Flex 3401.
Rupes iBrid.
Beta test wool pad.
Meg’s crimson foam pad.
Beta test compound.
Optimum paint prep for final wipe down.
Misc. MF towels.
SPS Graphene ceramic coating.
HD dress for tire dressing.
Metro vacuum.
Adam’s quick interior detailer.
McKee’s37 glass cleaner.
Awesome work and write up and pictures as always Scott!
That`s one of the worst water spotting I have seen. Hope it`s not from the automatic car wash that left it that way. Some can be horrendous if they don`t have the reuse water cleaning system working good. Looks like they are still on the hard side of hardness of the clearcoat LOL.
A real nice dark shade of black paint on this. And a cool car with the supercharged engine.
Beautiful work, sucks when you invest your time to make it look so nice, only to know it`ll be taken to gas station car washes. Well, you said local car wash so technically it could be a hand wash place. But around here those aren`t really much better than the drive thru ones lol.
Great Job! For that kind of money, you would think it wouldn`t have to come from the dealership like that.. On the 50/50 shot of the hood with the water spots, was that including left over lube from the claying process? and do you or use the Paint Prep after claying or just after polishing stages? Thanks!
Tony: water spotting was in the top 3 I have had to date! And, yes, hard as a rock! LOL
que: Yes, same here, not much better, a shame and kinda sad!
Rariman: Nope, I clayed this with a mitt after I washed it so I used shampoo/wash for lube. Car was rinsed then master blasted off. Some residual was left, but not a ton, the majority of that was how it arrived!
Dave: Yes, I`ve found Audi`s and some BMW`s need some serious hammer down time to get some correction going! Geez, with it being that `hard` you`d think it wouldn`t swirl! LOL
Imma call you Justin Timberlake..... cuz you always bring the sexy back! Lol.... in all seriousness amazing work. You get to restore the appearance of some amazing machines.
