BMW saved from the new talent at the dealership!

Got this new client referred by her salesman to us in earlier than expected which was great! I was really looking forward to doing this one. As you can see it needed a little love! Done by a house cleaning company that had expanded into detailing. I’m told every car on the lot looks like this! Just so you know, all inside pictures are corrected only, NO polishing or refining done. That , ladies and gentlemen is why we use Griot’s!
Correction done with Griot’s fast correction cream on a microfiber pad, using the 21 and 6 with the 3 inch pads. Polishing done with Griot’s perfecting cream on a yellow perfecting pad, refined with Griot’s perfecting cream on a black finishing pad. Modesta Primer finished the first day. Coated paint with Modesta BC04, wheels airbrushed with BC06, and glass with Modesta EGC, the newest offering. Tires with nanolex tire. Rear bumper is going to be removed to be re painted so I got out of that! Thank you for looking!

    Mike:
Same BMW with messed-up plastic lens on interior gauges?
    Please see: https://www.autopia.org/forums/click...ealership.html

Like I have said, many of you professional detailers are making a living fixing dealership detailing/vehicle prep departments` and "professional" detailers` screw-ups like this one. Pictures do not lie (unless they have been Photoshopped!).

Sometimes I think you included your signature "Maryland Merlin" photo of the deciduous trees in the car hood just for me! Kinda like the backwards ADT sign reflection in the side of the car as much. Signature "Maryland Mike" Photo? (Hmmm; detailing photo monikers. But I digress....)

And the obligatory Captain Obvious question: WHY are holding a bottle of Modesta Coating upside down in one of the photos? I assume you have or were going to use the last bit of it, and to do so the bottle ended up this way when the photo was taken.

Nice work on this Black Bimmer.

Thank you so much! The Modesta bottle is kinda an inside thing among the installers. During training it is constantly stressed to use the whole bottle. It’s kinda become an Instagram thing.

Nice work, the dealership really needs to look at getting a different crew for their detailing needs.

Great work and write up and pictures!

Looks great even after the cutting step! If only Griots Garage would export to EU had been nice. I would give it a test. It can be that the price range becomes on a whole other level here sadly. Must be great for your business to just have 2 or a couple of more brands when it comes to have a overlook of the prices and when ordering products. Also easier to get a great contact with the reseller that way too. Then that`s also great products most of them is not always the case.

To be honest if that where in Sweden that dealership would not last very long. If the BMW HQ where to know about how their new cars where delivered. They would not be able to sell BMW any more if they didn`t change the way there are delivered. Know it`s a different way in the US how dealerships and car brands works. But I don`t think that any car brand would be satisfied with cars beeing delivered in that condition. And as long as the dealership don`t loose sales it will keep going and more work for you LOL.

Beautiefull finish you got on it!

Thanks! Griot’s is the only product line we use. You should e mail them, they may be able to help you, samples or how you can get it.

Another awesome save there Mike, during the Gulf War, I had a bunch of radio station stickers that we always put them upside down. I think I got about 200 vehicles and hangers that were destroy with them on. I saw a few still on some hangers before I retired in 94 .
