Mark 4 Supra ready for TV

I’ve known the producers of Motorweek for quite a few years as they shoot just a few blocks from here. I was fortunate enough to be on the show in 2010. They were looking for a Supra to be filmed next to the new one. I have a friend with one and he finally wanted me to coat it. So we made some calls and we are filming this week! The coolest thing is this car is a one owner, targa, 6 speed in a rare silver.Less than 200 in the world!. Amazingly this car sits outside since new and covered. Maintained very well but as you can imagine a ton of marring! A few spots touched up over the years but not bad at all. Could only get one good picture of before conditions, but you’ll get the point. Correction done safely with fast correction cream on a white fast correction pad, followed by refining with perfection cream on a yellow perfecting pad. Finishing with Modesta Primer on a black finishing pad. Coated with Modesta BC08, trim with Modesta EPC. Tires with Nanolex tire and rubber. Wheels are bare aluminum, waxed with Griot’s 3/1 wax. Thank you for looking!

    Mike:
Are those rims Toyota OEM`s or are they aftermarket rims? Why did you use Griot`s 3-1 wax on them and not a metal or aluminum polish on them??

Nice work on a silver car. Hard to get silver to reflect and look as good as you have this one looking!

Personally, I think this older model is better-looking and more representative of "Toyota" styling and engineering than the new "BMW" co-designed one.
Having owned a 2nd-generation 1983 "wedge" Supra (very shortly, as it was crashed about 5-months later from falling asleep behind the wheel only a mile away from home after working the night shift. Lucky (blessed!) to be alive...), I have an admiration for them. It was more of a GT car than a sports car, but the in-line 6-cylinder engine was very smooth and the "wedge" styling did turn heads in its day.

Nice work, I`m sure this car made the atrocity that is the new supra look even worse than it is. I`m so disgusted at what Toyota did with the new one.

Thank you guys! The wheels are after market, very well maintained by the owner so no need for a metal polish. Just a few water spots to remove so a fine abrasive and added protection was all we needed. He has the factory wheels at home.

Very cool that your work will be showcased on the TV show next to the new Supra! Nice work on that and that poor thing needs to be kept indoors!!
