    Jaguar back for re coat

Long time client who insists on the free dealership washes! He knows that just pisses me off! But he says, I’ll just bring it back when it’s scratched again! Despite telling him about the finite amount of paint on the car, he’ll just buy another when I won’t polish it again. That’s a problem I don’t think I’ll afford to have! Multiple correction steps done with Griot’s fast correction cream on a microfiber pad, polishing done with Griot’s perfecting cream on a yellow perfecting pad, and refined with Modesta Primer on a black finishing pad. Coated with Modesta BC08, although he wanted BC04, I just couldn’t take that kind of money from him knowing what was going to happen. Glass with glassparency, tires with Nanolex tire. Again, thank you for looking!

Do you use griots cutting or finishing MF to get those results?

Jeez, the car was trashed. He should pass the bill on to the dealership.

    Great work Mike!

Sad to hear when even he has the knowledge about where the scratches and swirls comes from.

How much clearcoat do you shave off on a correction like this? And how many times do think it`s doable?

Thank you guys! It is a shame! Between the first time and this time we took an average of .3 mils. Depending on how bad I feel we can do it once more considering the coating is taking most of the abuse.

Mike stunning work as usual. Would the BC08 be more protective of existing factory clear coat given the pounding it obviously takes at the dealer? Not sure anything would stop that hammering.

Re: Jaguar back for re coat

The car looks great. I love that color.I don`t understand the whole, "take it to the dealer to get washed", mentality though I know people who do it when the dealership offers them for free. For me, any dealership visit is one of last resort, especially for washing. If I wanted someone else to clean my car there are a healthy number of automated car washes and car washes places around me which allow pretty quick service if I wanted to ruin the paint and I`m sure there are plenty of pro detailers with a mobile service if I wanted it done right. None of those options involve having to deal with a busy dealership service department and then waiting long than needed for someone to wash the car.
