Honda S2000, 2 pads, one product

This client wanted this presentable for sale. 1 owner, sat for 2 years in Texas! Car was purchased with 400 miles and now has less than 10K. These typically have thin paint, but this one had been gone over with a wool pad by someone. And as you probably are aware they are very scratch sensitive. Measurements were in the 3.5 range with some areas thinner. And the passenger side mirror was repainted in single stage. Cutting done with Griot’s finishing Sealant on a white cutting pad, then refined with finishing Sealant on a black finishing pad. All done with the GG6. On this sensitive paint I find the tall stroke machines are just to aggressive and make you work harder to get good clarity. Final wipe down with Griot’s best of show detailer. Tires with IGL, vacuum and wipe down interior with Griot’s Interior Detailer. Leather spruced up with Griot’s new 3-1 wipes. Thank you for looking! The before and after pics are after the process and wiped down with Griot’s surface prep.

    Mike:
Thanks for the write-up. Are all Honda paints this sensitive and "finicky"??
Hard to believe that the GG-BOSS Finishing Sealant could both correct AND finish out like it did with a 5/16"(8mm)-throw DA with GG white and black pads, respectively.
Also, is this vehicle a candidate for a some type of LSP, either BOSS wax or a Modesta coating, or were there too many imperfections that do not show up in a photo, but would be "magnified" with an LSP??
Oh, yes, VERY nice "Maryland Merlin" hood shot with this vehicle, especially with the overcast clouds that day .

I’ve noticed after several Honda S2000 and Acura NSX in black all seem to be this way. However that doesn’t mean I don’t do a test spot. All the other colors don’t seem to be that way. As a matter of fact, I’ve done a couple new NSX in black that weren’t that way at all! As far as lap, the car is up for sale so he wanted it to just look good and not worried about extreme protection. It could’ve been waxed on top or coated. The finishing Sealant will give him a good length of time anyway.
