    Ferrari Day at Autodermatology
1962 250 Short Wheel Base Tribute
    1964 250 GTO Tribute
    1966 330 2+2
    2012 458 Spider

Our annual car show, Cars on 5th, is this Saturday, and I had a few vehicles to get ready for the show!

I have worked on all of these cars previously. The 62 is coated, the 64 just got out of the paint booth a few months ago (I haven’t touched it since it received a fresh coat), the 66 is waxed, and the 12 is coated. (and needs to be redone-it’s got some swirls)

Nothing major on any of them, the 1964 received the majority of the ‘work’ as it needed a minor correction to get it looking decent. The other needed a waterless wash, spot correction and some spray wax/coating topper to get them spiffy again.

1962: Waterless washed w/McKee’s37 N914, topped off the coating with Adam’s ceramic boost, tire dressing McKee’s37 Hi Gloss, windows cleaned with Autofinesse cleaner, interior vacuumed, wiped down with Adam’s interior detailer, exhaust tips cleaned with Pinnacle exhaust cleaner and brightener.

1964: Waterless washed w/McKee’s37 N914, gloss enhanced/minor correction with Rupes MkII 21, yellow pad, Griot’s Perfecting Cream and topped with Wolfgang Fuzion. Tire dressing McKee’s37 Hi Gloss, windows cleaned with Autofinesse cleaner, interior vacuumed, wiped down with Adam’s interior detailer, exhaust tips cleaned with Pinnacle exhaust cleaner and brightener.

1966: Waterless washed w/McKee’s37 N914, Fuzion spray wax, tire dressing McKee’s37 Hi Gloss, windows cleaned with Autofinesse cleaner, interior vacuumed, wiped down with Adam’s interior detailer, exhaust tips cleaned with Pinnacle exhaust cleaner and brightener.

2012: Rinseless washed with a beta test RW. Master Blaster to dry. Tire dressing McKee’s37 Hi Gloss, windows cleaned with Autofinesse cleaner, interior vacuumed, wiped down with Adam’s interior detailer, exhaust tips cleaned with Pinnacle exhaust cleaner and brightener.

    And that was my day!

All three of those are just super sweet.

    Stunning.
What do your neighbors think of all this? I would just be out there with a lawn chair gawking.

    Sizzle Chest:
Not very often does one see that many iconic Ferraris at a car show, let alone in one`s front driveway patio. Sorry the `66 could not stay and be a part of the photo group.

On the `66, how did you prep-and-polish the chrome trim and wire wheels for a car show?

My observation is that Wolfgang Fuzion wax seems to be your wax of choice for show cars. Just an observation, as I am sure you have your reasons.

AND, as usual ,you are beta testing some car-care product; this time a NEW Rinseless Wash. How does it compare with McKee`s N-917?

How you prepped and detailed 4 cars , especially for a car show, is beyond me.

FYI, it`s snowing (again) with a temp of 12°F in Green Bay, Wisconsin as I type, so your "tropical" pictures at least bring a little warmth to this Frozen Tundra (quite literally) of Lambeau Field. Thanks for posting the pics!!!!

    Re: Ferrari Day at Autodermatology

Thank you Lonnie, sorry it`s so cold up there! LOL

Yes, I could not fit the `66 in with the rest of them, so that was the last to get done. The chrome trim was already polished when I had it in for its` full detail a bit ago, so the wheels/chrome trim only needed a wipe down. It hadn`t been driven since then so I didn`t have to worry about brake dust or anything. However, had it needed attention, I would WW it, then use a glaze or chrome polish on the trim/bumpers. As for the wire wheels, I would use either Sonax or P21S wheel cleaner on them, a multitude of small and medium brushes and then seal them with Hydro Blue.

On the non-coated vehicles, I like a nice nuba wax, and I do like Fuzion a lot, so that is why I went that route. Easy and pleasant to use, great looks and feel.

The beta RW is very good. No streaking, and worked very nicely.

I started on the `64 Wednesday night, by Thursday at midnight it was completed, onto the `62 which was in good shape and only needed a quick cleanup. The 458 was on deck next, that needed a good rinseless to get it where it needed to be along with the `normal` stuff. The `66, as I stated above, was in excellent shape and really only needed a wipedown to rid it of fingerprints/etc as well as glass, tires, wheels, etc.

I worked my arse off for sure!!!
