    Audi TT wearing Modesta

The new client and new to him car wanted serious protection for the paint and wheels for his dream car. Not a lot of damage except for a few serious water spots. Cutting with Griot’s fast cut cream on a microfiber pad to remove the water spots on the top of the car only, the rest was cut using Griot’s correction cream on a orange correction pad. Refined with Griot’s perfecting cream on a black finishing pad. After cutting the top of the car, we baked it for 20 minutes and let it cool to see if the spotting came back. Fortunately they did not. Finished up with Modesta Primer. All work done with Griot’s 15 at speed 4, along with The GG6 with a 3 inch pad setup. Coated paint with BC08, wheels sprayed with BC06 and baked. Tires with IGL, glass with glassparency. Trim with Modesta trim coating. Thank you for looking!

Great work and write up and pictures as always!

    The reflections is awesome!
Could it be that the harder clearcoats on the most german cars has the ability to resive those reflection better than say the on asian softer clearcoats? Or is it something else that do it as the quality of the paint and how they paint them. Audis in particular seems to be better reflections than most mirrors LOL. This is of course picked up on pictures for me. But is it any difference in your opinion in real life?

Don`t remember if I have asked you this before. But could you go from the cutting step to refine it with Modesta Primer and skip the Perfecting Cream step?

    Thanks for shareing your work!

    Re: Audi TT wearing Modesta

I don’t think hard or soft is a discription I like to use for paint. I describe it as easy to correct or difficult. This Audi was very easy to remove the defects using my choice of products, which I believe in concert with the tools and experience is what yields the results. As far as paint finish quality, I do find Audi and believe it or not KIA seem to have the least texture and factory defects that I see. I have seen very expensive Aston Martin cars with numerous factory sand marks! I think it all had to do with how the paint is applied and quality control at the factory. A perfect example is my Challenger. Mine is a 2013 that had numerous sand marks and dirt nibs, my friend has a 2014, had dirt and sand marks in the same places. Go figure? As far as skipping perfecting cream and going straight to the Modesta Primer, the Primer is a very fine finishing polish, so I have gone straight to it on paints that I don’t have to be aggressive at the cutting steps and I see no haze. But I’m old school and just feel better doing the refining with perfecting cream. Hope that answers your question?
