    Volkswagen Phaeton, quite a challenge

New to this client, this car came from Texas and had a rough life! Client had front end repainted due to stone chips, and the body shop didn’t do us any favors. First repaint was wrong color! So after they got it right the car had 30 mils of paint on the front, compared to 8-9 on the rest! Along with sanding pigtails under the clear and the required overspray and swirls. We did 2 cutting steps with Griot’s fast correction cream on a microfiber pad using the 21 with a 5 inch pad. Initial polishing was done with Griot’s perfecting cream on a yellow perfecting pad using the 21, which removed the cutting haze, but didn’t give the clarity we wanted. Refined with Griot’s perfecting cream on a yellow perfecting pad using the 15 did the trick. Finished up with Modesta Primer on a Modesta polishing pad. Coated paint with BC08, wheels sprayed with Modesta BC06 and cured with IR lamp. Trim with Modesta trim coating, tires with G-tech, Glass with Dr. Beasley. All in all very pleased with the results. Thank you for looking!

Impressive turn around. That’s the kind of shape the paint was in on the Mercedes I saw yesterday and I imagine those are the types of steps it requires too Keep up the good work!

Wow, that paint looks like a mirror.

The Phaeton is such an interesting car. Tough market for a $100,000 car coming from Volkswagen, and the resale value was absolutely terrible. Had an available W12 engine

Thank you! This was the 12, like you said for that much money it shouldn’t look like a Passat!

    Mike:
Great work as usual. Love the "Maryland Merlin Shot" of the bare deciduous trees in the hood. Also the sky shot of the cloud formation was "artistic".

Wow that some work and steps but the results speak for themselves. Black paint to be proud of for sure. Excellent job.

Is that the same as the Audi s8?

It shares its chassis with the Bentley continental gt.
