    Finally got to just wax!

Although 95% of our work is Modesta, I still enjoy waxing a car. After doing a few of these civic type R’s, the local club has sent me more members. This new client enjoys waxing but wanted it corrected before he took over care. I find these cars difficult because of all the goodies stuck on them. The correction and refinement was done in one step using Griot’s finishing Sealant on a white correcting foam pad. Several dealer or factory defects were removed without problem. Protection was Griot’s poly wax. Tires with Griot’s long lasting dressing. Wheels with best of show spray wax. NOTE: after pictures were after I wiped the car down with Griot’s paint prep. This assured no filling and that defects were removed. Thank you for looking!

Hard to say as with any Sealant, depends on all the variables. Taken care of correctly I’ve seen it last more than 6 months.

Sometimes wax just feels right! So slick...smooth...easy to use! That`s how black should look! I could jump into it from my monitor!

The name finishing sealant throws me for a loop as I think that it`s a sealant

Going through withdrawl here in Ottawa, Canada; been snowing the last week.... Car looks like crap even minutes after going through the touchless "wash"...
So nice to be able to at least enjoy your fantastic work! Spring seems so far, far, away...

Re: Finally got to just wax!

After reading Mike’s post and seeing the photos, it reminded me that I’ve wanted to try Liquid Poly Wax. I`ve used both HD Poxy and Opti-Seal, among others, but occasionally I look for another wax or sealant that might offer extra protection from water spots. If there is such a thing.

Polished the car with HD Speed, then applied the wax and let it sit for about 30 minutes. It’s extremely easy to apply, and I was able to remove all of it using only the one towel that comes in the kit. I have a black car I think it’s the best it’s every looked.

Two days after applying the wax it rained, and although I still had some water spots on the hood, they were easier to wipe off. I’m guessing it might be the heat from the engine that causes the spots, since the water is evaporating faster than it does on the rest of the car, but at least this time they came off with just my normal rinse-less wash solution.
