That paint look smooth. I like the look of the new Dodge trucks. I`m glad they stopped with that puffed up transformer look they`ve had for too long.

No, spotting and correction of defects. On the dark colors they stick right out.
Mike lambert- Ah, OK...yeah, it *is* a little different, for me at least, on white. Not just compared to dark colors, but from metallics like silver too. Sometimes I even see flaws on white better under fluorescents of all things! (Props to Bill D who originally suggested I try that.)
The scan grips show everything.

Could you please refresh my memory (sorry!)..which ones do you have? I get *so* much conflicting/different feedback about the various ScanGrip lights, and the different generations of same, it`s hard for me to keep track of who likes/doesn`t what.
I do appreciate feedback about Inspection Lighting, even if I don`t do correction for years on end...what I have now works fine for me but I`m still curious about the New Shiny Things (i.e., LEDs).
I have the first gen hand held and the larger one on the stand. If I was to buy another, I’d go with the Griot’s large one. Works just as well at about half the price.
As always, great job!
Thanks!
Have look out at the second generation Scangrip lights. Where I bought the Sunmatch v1 just a couple of months ago. Sell the Sunmatch v2 for 140$ and the big box kit v2 for 380$. If I where detailing for money I would order the kit v2. But it`s to much for my situation and is on the look out for a new polisher. The same company has the Rupes LH19E rotary polisher 230v stn kit for 380$ know too. And I know I will wait to long to get it at that price LOL. The Black Friday is coming up so will see how the prices is then. But 35% off the retail price is a good price. I have don`t really decided if going rotary or a smoother longthrow DA yet. Ohh the Scangrip v3 was released at SEMA this year. So that`s why the prices are dropping on the earlier versions I think.
Is there any difference from the GG lights and the Scangrips?

When working with Rod Kraft from Griot’s I noticed no difference, again at half the price.
Mike lambert- Thanks, appreciate the feedback about the lights. SO much to digest, so many differing experiences/opinions!
SWETM- The 2nd Gen ScanGrips are the ones I hear so much conflicting stuff about! There are guys who *insist* that they can`t see some stuff under them that they *do* see under the original ones.
The Astro Pneumatic lights are another cheaper alternative to the Scan Grips. Look identical.
