Meet Sasha: Cosmic Hellcat in Pitch Black

Sasha lived a sad life at the dealership in Corpus for almost two years until my client swiped her up for almost 20k under original sticker with less than 30 miles on the clock! M6, sunroof, the nice full leather seats in black.

She started her life in the showroom but was moved outside for at least a year and given a waterboarding treatment of you can only imagine what along with being slapped with a chaomis and not by that quirky guy from the similarly named commercials.

She had some typeII etches from the shine envious birds on the lot. Surprisingly the worst one was on the drivers door a few inches below the handle and a few chips that looked like probably door dings from the lot that of course had to happen on the creases on the sides. That seems to be the only place that anyone ever dinged my car as well.

She came to me with 913 (or 912- I forget) miles. Still such a young gal in her life for what they had done to her. She arrived early Saturday morning seeking a much needed refuge in my garage. The owner stayed and helped me a little with the wash and decon steps as I showed him the ropes on washing a black car safely. He also wanted to help out so he could learn so I equipped him with the nano and 1 inch pad and had him go around all the small areas of the car as I hit the panels with my polishers.

    The tools:
    Rupes mini,dueto,lhr21 mk2, ibird nano
I used a combo of different pads based on the panels- rupes blue foam, blue micro cut, urofiber rupes yellow and white, and a variety of pads on my mini and nano

Most panels took two compounding passes and then a finishing pass and I later went back over it with pa primer and a white pad to squeeze out just a tad more gloss before applying cosmic v2. Initially I wasn`t going to chase some of the RIDS but what can I say, I couldn`t help myself. Cosmic Spritz to finish it off.

Other products used: poorboys foam soap, iron remover, bold n bright
cg red soap (still have 1/3 of a gallon- it was one of my first purchases)
PA diver, engine and rapidwaxx on jams
    Mckees wheel coating on faces

I probably forgot some things. This was my first job of the year and I can say I definitely was excited to be able to give the owner a proper black car. The owner even contacted me as he was looking for Hellcats to get something scheduled for once he purchased it. He had the car for only a few weeks before it showed up here. I`m also very happy he helped out because generally turning these around in 48 hours total time is a chore for me. He saved me a few hours of labor at least. I gave him a 100 ml bottle of PA Diver. Seemed like a fair trade to me.

I figured up about 16 hours polishing. Granted I did stop and take vids/pics and such. Another 6 hours approximiately for the rest so I`d say 22 hours in the given 33.5 hours. There were a few things I still needed to do, like the fender wells and I wanted to get my hands inside the barrels of the front wheels but I was battling the sun and time, like usual.

Overall I am very satisfied with how the vehicle turned out. I had some smearing from the final Cosmic Spritz application but that`s why I like the sun inspection, so I can see that. I gave the owner a few ounces of glissante for upkeep and he recently purchased some products from ACC that I hand selected for him.

Final conclusion: I still don`t think I would ever own a pitch black vehicle and even the thought of getting a new vehicle scares me because even after all of this work my car has less rids than his and I have 90 thousand more miles and have only really heavily compounded it twice.
Thanks for viewing and reading Sasha`s story.

Thanks. On the 392 and hellcat most people just delete the resonators. the stock exhaust is pretty decent from what I hear.

I always do headers and full exhaust. I like the deeper sound the headers give.

I do miss the rumbling sound of my V8. Like you, I like headers and full exhaust. You don`t get that from a Honda 4 Cyl, and definitely not from a wee little Yaris.

I should just cam the heck out of my Yaris, and.... LOL, I`ll stop there
