Just at a quick glance it looks like they scratched it then tried to fix it quickly?

    Mike:
Are the holograms the result of an improper application/usage of a rotary buffer and wool pads, in your estimation???
I understand the swirls and scratches are a result of improper use of a wash technique using a plastic bristle broom wash brush , whose tips are no longer flared/flagged ends due to wear and/or drying with an old, dirty cotton towel (I `m guessing).

Seems a lot of these "dealer installed swirls and scratches" on vehicles these days are coming your way for "correction".

They apparently scratched it while washing and tried to fix it. The holograms you see are from the only machine that can make them, a rotary buffer in the hands of untrained and inexperienced people. I can tell you that in my area with the dealerships using low bid companies to prep cars I see this to some extent on every newer car that comes in here.

Eh, just IMO, but she should`ve refused delivery. I`ve turned down I-waited-months vehicles over a lot less than that. That appears to be something she could easily enough get in undamaged condition rather than some rare special-order.

Anybody who`s that incompetent with wash media and/or a rotary oughta be kept away from adult stuff. Even first-try efforts should never be close to that. I simply cannot imagine anybody doing such terrible work, and regulars here know that I don`t consider myself a rotary-Meister by any means.

EDIT: Gee, don`t I sound all grumpy and nastily judgmental in the above

She told them not to touch it, but while signing they did.

It`s makeing you busy that for sure. Wonder how many customers that buys new cars drive around clueless of what has been done to their car. Do you have a paint thickness reader? Would be intresting to see how much it`s on there now and after you corrected it. Can imagine that it take away a good amount of clearcoat. And with the thin factory paints now days you would want to have as much as you can on your new car. I would backed out of buying that car. Does the dealership pay your bill for the on it?
Just curious. And sad to see how dealerships do to customers. The damage they do to customers big investments is tragic.

I have not doubt that you get it looking great again.

Yes we measure paint on every car we polish. Started with 4.5 average and wound up with an average of 4.3. She is fighting to get re embersed

Mike Lambert- That 0.2 loss isn`t all *that* bad considering how it looked.

How would she get reimbursed? I don`t see how they`d assign value to lost clearcoat, though sure they can at least pick up the tab for your services.

Re: Tomorrow’s project, thanks to dealership!

Considering that .5 over the life of the car is all that is recommended to be removed, I think that is a significant amount on a 5 day old car! She would like to be re embersed for my fee.
