2011 Escalade ESV in Black! AKA Land Yacht!

Had a new client who dropped off this land yacht last week for some serious polishing and a good interior detail. The interior overall wasn`t bad at all. Just big and time consuming. The paint was another story. Although clean, it was far from nice as he admitted to frequenting the local scratch and swirl car wash. I made it very clear that needs to stop if he was going to be paying me good money to spend the time and correct this thing. He completely agreed and the light bulb went off in his head when I started educating him on proper wash methods etc.

    Wash/Decon

Foamed with Hyper wash, Aggressive wash method, Mothers speed clay

    Wheels/Tires

Sonax wheel cleaner plus, LATA, Hyper dressing, Mothers all chrome spray

    Correction

M100, G21, Boss microfiber cutting pad
Finish polished with Hyper polish, Rupes Yellow pad and G21.
Adams swirl killer mini was also used with 3in/4in pads

    LSP

FUSSO COAT "WAX". I had bought a can of this a couple months ago but have only done a couple tests and TBH I`m impressed with its slickness and hydrophobic properties. Nice addition to vehicles not getting a coating.

    Interior

Plastics, seats etc all steamed then dressed with IGL dash.
Carpets cleaned with Mckees carpet and upholstery cleaner.

    Engine

LATA then dressed with Hyper dressing.

Good grief. that must have taken forever.

Looks great - I`m sure the owner was stoked at the transformation in the paint. I feel bad / envious for the owner - Black looks killer when detailed right, but Oh Man the maintenance.

    Justin !
That is absolutely Stunningly Clear, Flat, and Glossy !!!!
Just Beautiful work, I am so proud of you !!!!!

Yeah, I know what you mean, those big long dogs take forever!
But look how good it turned out !!!

I love Optimum Hyper Polish - it always gives me similar results - you Rocked It !!!

    Engine compartment = Perfect !!!

Reminded me of the year not long ago, I Detailed 17 Black vehicles in a row...
It Will get you in great shape for sure..

Now if it just had a good coating to help keep the defects down AND staying away from the car wash.. Perhaps someday, he will go for it..

Thanks for all that extreme hard work and finesse, Justin !

    Nick,
    Couldn`t agree with you more..

As an owner of many Black and BMW Jet Black vehicles, I have finally found a way to keep maintenance to a minimum..
Get it really, really, corrected perfectly..
Get it Coated or at the minimum something like Sonax Polymer Net Shield or something like that..
Only handwash very carefully with something like Car Pro Reset and a shot of Optimum ONR..
Blow dry as much water off as possible before touching with anything..
Blot carefully as much as possible, and use something like Optimum Opti-Clear, etc., as a lubricant when drying it with the softest clean microfiber you have, using many of these so you don`t accidentally introduce a scratch, etc..

Anything you do yourself under controlled conditions will be so much better than any carwash out there, except the ones that just go around and spray the vehicle..
