2017 Ford Raptor - Light Grey - A Miracle Detailing - CQuartz FINEST

2017 Ford Raptor - Light Grey - A Miracle Detailing - CQuartz FINEST

Polishing machines: Rupes - 21 MKI, 15 MKII, 75 Mini and Nano iBrid.
Polish/Pads: Carpro Essence w/CP MF pad - Essence w/CP Gloss pad.
Last Step Product: All painted surfaces coated with CQuartz FINEST!

    Side Note:
The fender skirts were some type of composite. I tried DLux and it streaked and blotched. I had a hard time getting a smooth, even look.
I stripped off the DLux and (luckily) I had just enough CQ Finest in the bottle to coat the fender skirts. (Much Better, smoother, even look)

    Another Note:
For a "Brand New" vehicle the B pillars were swirled up really bad. They polished up crystal clear and I coated them with CQuartz Finest.

    Thanks for Looking...

Yeah, I thought the two door was actually a pretty kewl vehicle.

Dlux worked fine on everything except the fender skirts and the black "FORD" panel across the tailgate.
All of which is some type on composite. I you run into it...don`t even try...Dlux is not the right product.

On the other hand, Cquartz Finest ceramic nano coating worked great!

You could try something like PERL that should work fine.

Yes, I was actually impressed with the two door.

    Beautiful work as always!
Can I ask why both the Compound and Finishing steps with Essence? I have never thought of that.
Is it due to the paint hardness?

    This one has twin turbochargers.

    A little story to share...
When he went to the dealer and ordered it he passed a new Mustang in the showroom with this light grey color.
He said to the salesman "I like that color". The salesman said "I`m glad because that`s the color you ordered."

    THANK YOU!

Great work. I do have a few questions

You don`t cheat eheels on that driveway ? It`s so clean. Does it not stain. Or do you take care not to stain it ?

Are those stock wheels? Thought all raptors came with bead lock looking rims?

Watched the video 3 times. Just amazing paint clarity and reflection.

    Thank you...That is very kind.

Actually, the reason I do this Essence pad combo is not related to paint hardness.

    Correction:
IMHO Essence does its best "swirl removal" correction work with a microfiber pad.
I am not saying that Essence is a correction compound. Essence is a finishing polish.
For light swirls...Essence and a microfiber correction/finishing pad do an outstanding job.

    Finishing:
IIRC Essence contains many different components, fine correction, durable filler, gloss etc.

It also has another property that I find useful and a big time saver. A built in primer.
A built in primer? If you use a polish E.G M205 etc. they all leave behind polishing oils.
Essence has a built in primer that eliminates the need to do polishing oil residue removal.

You know the old drill. Remove all polish residue before LSP using IPA, Mineral Spirits etc.
    * I personally prefer Eraser. IMHO It works better!. Eraser is user friendly & smells good too!
There is no need to use Eraser when you are using Essence! Wipe Essence away...it`s LSP ready.

Using Essence for both the minor correction step and finishing step eliminates extra work and time.

    Carpro-us website quote:

    Features:

Primes surface for CQuartz or Reload
    Produces Extremely High Gloss
    Semi-permanent filling capabilities
Adds layer of SiO2 Quartz protection
Use with D/A, Rotary, or by Hand

    In Short:
Essence with microfiber pad = Polish, minor correction, swirl removal and adds gloss.
Essence with Gloss pad = Clean up mf pad micro marring, add clarity and more gloss.
