    2014 Porsche Boxster S

    2014 Porsche Boxster S
GT Silver Metallic, red top, red interior

I had a potential customer come to me in regards to getting some work done on his 2014 Porsche Boxster S. He was interested in getting it looking better and something that would assist it in staying clean. I spoke to him about ceramic coatings, paint correction, etc. He decided on paint correction and a ceramic coating. I got him scheduled and he dropped it off Friday for an appointment this weekend.

The vehicles exterior was a bit dirty. Upon inspection of the paint surfaces, they were in very good condition, only requiring a minor polish/paint correction. There were a few scuffs and minor swirling. The interior was dirty and sandy as well as having some pet marks inside…the customer’s sidekick Boomer is always with him and loves to ride in the Porsche!

    Onto the details!

    Foam cannon with Wolfgang Autobathe.
    Decon with Sonax Fallout cleaner.

2BW and clay with Nanoskin wash mitt and Wolfgang Autobathe for shampoo and lube.
Final wash with SCG Pro Surface Prep wash.
Vehicle dried via Metro Master Blaster.
Wheels: Adam’s deep wheel cleaner. Daytona speedmaster brushes along with other miscellaneous brushes.
Tires: Tufshine tire cleaner and Tufshine tire brush.
    Wheel wells: 1Z APC.

Paint gauge readings: Varied from 2.2-5’ish mils.

Tape off car: Miscellaneous tape in various sizes.
Lighting: Scangrip Colourmatch LED detail lights.
    Machines: Flex 3401, speed 4, Flex PE8, speed 1-2.
    Pads: Scholl’s polishing (blue).
    Polish: Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish.
    Wipedown: CarPro Eraser.
    LSP: Gyeon Prime Ceramic Coating.
    Final wipedown: Gyeon Cure.
    Tire dressing: Adam’s Super VRT.
Coating on wheels/calipers: CarPro Hyrdo 2.
Exhaust tip cleaned with: Pinnacle Exhaust cleaner and brightener.
    Glass: Adam’s glass cleaner.
    Interior vacuumed via Metro Vac.
Leather and interior cleaned and protected with: Kenotek Vinyl and Leather cleaner and conditioner. I really like this product. It is easy to use and delivers great results.

This was my first experience with the Gyeon line of coatings. I’ll be adding them to my arsenal of coatings. It was extremely easy to use. On/off was a walk in the park! The final results were nothing short of fantastic! The flake really came alive after application and even more so after curing. The depth, glow, and ‘candy look’ is amazing. I am very pleased with the results…and it’s not even my car!

The final wipedown was performed with Gyeon Cure. What a great product for a final wipedown. It was easy to use, pleasant smelling, and added an extra topper of slickness. It really amped up the slickness of the coating. Very nice!

The customer picked his vehicle up this afternoon and was very happy with the results!

The Porsche Looks Great!!! Thank you for the detailed info and pics. Can`t wait to see more of your work especially with the Gyeon line. As far as the Porsche leather and the Kenotek how does that work with Porsche leather that is say around 5 years of age with some wear, also what is the smell like? Also as you are the professional what other products have you applied for Porsche leather for each type of condition Excellent, Good, and then the oh wow that has some real cracks what should I apply. Sorry for all the questions, but you take such pride in your work and it shows and seem to be a great source for info.

First, thank you for the comments!

The Kenotek has a clean pleasant smell. Maybe a little mint/powder is the best way I could explain it. It is nice. I would use the Kenotek on `older` leather as well as new leather without hesitation. Of course you should always do a test spot first to make sure it is compatible and color fast with the material you are working with.

I have used a ton! Ultima, Pinnacle, Pinnacle Black Label, Leatherique, etc.

What I will use will sometimes depend on the leather as well: is is natural, coated, etc.

    Hope this helps you!
