Had the honor of working on this great tribute Camaro this weekend. I wanted to test out the new Pinnacle black label diamond paint coating version 2 so I called my buddy who has been wanting to get his car done and we set up a day.
The airbrush work was top notch but like most the finish work left something to be desired. The hood was full of rotary marring and left over sanding marks.
Washed with Blackfire carwash soap.
Wheels tires cleaned with Iron x and tuffshine
Paint decon with ironx and fine nanoskin mitt
Wheels sealed with Hydro2. Tires dressed with Blackfire eclipse tire dressing.
I did my original test spot with FG400 and a Orange CCS pad with my 3401. I was getting good results but it was taking several passes. So I switched it up to my rotary and a Orange CCS pad and gave the Pinnacle advanced compound a shot. What a great combo!!! The rotary broke down the abrasives with ease and left a nice finish.
After compounding with my Makita rotary and Flex PE8 rotary I used Pinnacle advanced finishing polish with a black CCS pad. The PE8 was used to finish the bumpers and tight areas as well.
Paint was then cleaned with Pinnacle cleansing polish and Blackfire coating prep spray.
The PBL V2 went on very easy and flashed quickly due to the Florida heat but still wipped off clean! It left a great slick finish too. Onto the pictures!
Upon arrival.
Iron x working.
After prepping. Noticed the swirls and sanding marks.
Wing removed for polishing.
All corrected and prepped for the PBL V2.
All finished!!!
