<span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;">This is a Shelby I did last week in preparation for winter storage. Overall the car was in very good condition with just a few rids and normal use swirls. The interior was also in pretty good shape.

<span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">On to the wash and decon. I’ve found that a MF towel instead of a brush works best for scrubbing cloth convertible tops.

<span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">Soaking with CGCW&G and Dawn mix in warm water applied with a foam cannon.

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

    `

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">All washed and ready for decon.

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

    `

<span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">During the decon I found a few chips in the paint and fixed those. Here’s the process I use. As I find them I circle them with a yellow marker to so they are easier to find and not get missed. The chips need to be thoroughly cleaned with wax & grease remover then the chip can be touched up. With the chips being so small once the paint is dry I use a pencil eraser as a sanding block. The sanding disc is 1500 grit 1 in diameter and has adhesive backing.

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

<span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">Once I have the paint worked back down level I then blend it all in and take out the 1500 scratches with 3” 3000 grit pad.

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

    `

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">Looks good !

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

<span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">All cleaned and protected with 303. To keep the top clean it was covered with 3M painter’s window plastic. The nice thing about this plastic is its pre taped on one side.

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

    <span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#000000;">

Thanks, sorry, no there aren`t many. The weather called for rain and I had a hour drive to return the car so not a lot of time. It was pretty much take the ones I took, put the top up and get going.

Nice work indeed! `Lots of good work you did in the span of two days.

    `

A few questions, if I may...

    `

How did you clean the under-hood sound insulation/ fabric/ cover/ whatever-black-thing? `I was thinking of taking a steamer to them... but interested in your method.

    `

How do you like the MotorKote?

    `

When reverse-taping... did you notice any leftover residue on the paint after you pulled it off?

    `

Where you fixed up the paint chips looks great! `Thanks for showing your method on this.

How long did this take? If it was over one day how did you make sure no dusty settled on the paint before you went back to work on the car?

Great job. Hard to think that people are already getting ready to put away there cars for the winter months.`

Just a not about the sanding those chips. I use the same method as it works great, but one thing I found really helps is a single paper hole punch helps to get a perfect little circle of sand paper.`
