I did a 2 step correction about 3 years ago on this car. At the time it only had 2200 miles. The last couple years have been a little harder on it as its now a daily driver (a massively fun one). At 14,500 miles its obviously not a long commute, but it just doesn`t get the care it did as the weekend toy.

With both my customer and myself having a very busy schedule, setting a date for it was a little bit of a challenge. When we finally did and I saw the condition, I knew it was due for another 2 step correction, but neither of us had more than 1 day to work on it. So a long 1 step correction was chosen. I spent extra time working the polish as long as possible to get as much correction as possible. At the end of the day about 80-85% correction was achieved leaving mostly just the deep scratches and very few remaining swirls. The customer was a little worried 1 step wouldn`t do enough, but in 3 years I`d become much more efficient and brought it just about right back to where it was last time and he was quite pleased with the result.

I used Menzerna SIP on LC orange on the PCXP and worked it as long as possible.

    Nice work Jeff.

I am thinking of using similar set up on a friend`s Avensis this weekend (PO203S + LC orange). How long did you work roughly overall on a section (i.e. number of passes, overall time, did you `rejuvenate` with water every so often etc.).

    Thank you in advance.

Thanks! I`d work a 2`x2` section for about 90 sec or so. Yes I gave the pad a tiny spritz of water on occasion then pressed it firmly to the paint, pushing out soaked in polish and that allowed even longer working time. Worked great.

Real nice work Jeff! Those 2 roof shots are just gorgeous deep reflections. I like sip for one steps but lately I find myself reaching for UNO on them more and more. It has less cut but finishes with more gloss than sip I find.

I really love the red/ black contrast on that vette. Great car.

Lotus - if UNO doesn`t cut way better than SIP, you are using too much product. There really is no comparison between the 2 polishes as far as compounding goes.

Thank you for the response and help. If indeed 90 secs and 2`x2` panels work on the (soft-ish?) Toyota paint it should allow me to go through the car quicker than I thought.

Thats a big statement....how does it finish down with an orange pad compared with SIP? I may have to try this.
