Hey Everybody, Just wanted to share a quick write up with you all.

I detailed this car for a friend and ended up spending a little longer than estimated...22 hours, so sorry for the lack of pics/details (I now know why they named this car the magnum..:lol1

    Here`s at the start.

Wash with dawn, DD uber yellow sponge, via 2bm w/ my new kranzle 1120T & DI water.

Then Clayed with DD fine & ONR

And Finally masked with 3M Blue/Green Tape

    [IMG][/IMG]

A little look at the paint outside in the sun..

    [IMG][/IMG]

Brought inside for some up close inspection using the 1000W halogens. Seeing some pretty heavy defect, I opted for a more aggressive test spot approach with an orange 5.5/pcxp/m105

    [IMG][/IMG]

Hard to tell from the picture but there was still some good remaining RID`s so I stepped up to the 7/8" Cyan pad with m105 and this still resulted in a good amount of defect left behind. So on with the next try...Surbuf pad...winnner winner chicken dinner!...

    Here`s a 50/50 under the halogens...

    [IMG][/IMG]

And brought outside for a quick look and sun shot...

    [IMG][/IMG]

And some more 50/50 and before/after`s

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

I then refined the paint using menzerna FPII and sealed w/ BFWD

    Looking pretty glossyyy...

    [IMG][/IMG]

Outside the next day for some sun Pics...

    Wiped down with fk425

    Optiseal on the wheels

    Surfcity tire shine

CG barebones on the wheel wells

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

Engine Bay after degreasing and removing the fresh from the dealer greasy look. Dressed/protected with 303Aero and optimum poliseal

    [IMG][/IMG]

    A few interior shots..

Carpets extracted using the mytee lite II

    Products used:

    megs apc +

    megs quick out

    IZ cockpit premium

Leather was cleaned/treated with Leather Masters Trio

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    Thanks for looking!

    thanks

The kranzle is awesome. It`s able to pump water from water Tank in the back of my truck with ease and its just a really clean overall unit. The hose reel works great with a 50ft hose as well. Big step down in power from my old gas powered p/w but nothing I didn`t expect. I no longer have to worry about pissing off the neigbors with the noise.

Good, I`m thinking of picking one up from Phil. Are you using a foam cannon or lance, if so what kind?

Morgan_W- Nice work! I bet the owner was very happy with how it turned out.

So the Surbuff/M105 was the ticket huh? Good to know, my wife and I are kinda thinking about buying one of those for the next dog-hauler.

maxpr1- I have an AG foam cannon and the unit came with 2 different lances. This is definitley a nice step up from a karcher or any of the lower end electric pressure washers.. I reccomend it for sure.

Accumulator-These are definitley awesome cars. The owner is a major auto enthusiast and was on a hunt to search on of these down. Since they stopped making them in 08` he had to go used. He said it was it was pretty tough finding one with lower miles and the v8. I guess the v6 are really common though. So far he loves it, he is definitley a motor head so having the v8 was a must(he almost went for the srt-8 model) but he said it is still capable of getting 25+ mpg unlike the srt-8 model, there`s plentyyy of storage room, and it has a great ride.

Surbuf pads saved the day once again. Gotta love how easy they are to use, with very light pressure, no heat build up, and a great finish on harder paints. Keeping them clean is a little bit of a task but since I got an air compressor it`s a lot easier. The metallic paint does a pretty good job of masking the defects as well, the defects were much worse looking in person. But now that it`s fully corrected that flake really pop`s!

Looks great! Glad your friend demolded it, they look much better that way.

Accum, I think you would like it as a dog hauler. The rear seats fold forward flat leaving plenty of room for storage, dogs, etc.

Morgan_W- Yeah, I`m in the same boat as its owner- should`ve bought one new but I needed something bigger back then. I can`t go SRT-8 as I need AWD

My Yukon is that metallic black color, and I find it a PIA to inspect...too easy to miss something that I then notice later!

Leadfootluke- Actually, I take the rear seats *out* of my dog-haulers; primary dog gets that area, the female (in her crate) goes in back. I miss driving wagons, used to always have several of `em. I`d normally go Audi, but, well...my wife and I both think the Magnum would be cool. Now if I can just find a decent one!

Im so close to buying a magnum right now its scary. Ive never seen the srt style seats in an r/t before. The interior and seats are my two least favorite things about them.

    Looks sweet, nice work.

That is the R/T Road and Track package. SRT style bolstered seats, different wheels, different exhaust than a typical R/T.

I am planning on inheriting my dad`s R/T when he gets sick of it

I`ve been burning up the phone lines, but after I start asking...uhm.."autopian questions" people are backing off their "hey, it`s perfect!" sales-spiels and they start being evasive. Some people aren`t even getting back to me with answers to basic questions about the condition.

Hint: mentioning mils, microns, and ETG readings makes sellers nervous :chuckle:

I don`t want to rack up a bunch of frequent-flyer miles only to look at [crap].
