Hey guys, I`m trying to catch up on some write ups with some time off and this write up is not about a full paint correction but about proper washing and drying techniques with the right protection can lead to a very healthy and defect free life on a cars paint. Back in October of 2006 this customer purchased this car and the first thing he had me do was a full paint correction. I spent about 15-20 hours on the car then fine tuning the paint to the best of my ability and ever since then, the ONLY person to touch the car is myself. The owner rarely drives the car and I see the car every 6-8 weeks.

This past October was 3 years and the car is still about 90-95% defect free. After this winter I will do a light polish with Menzerna Power Finish and maybe 85rd to take it to the next level but over the last 3 years it has only received Wash/clay/EZ Creme glaze/Opti-Seal, and as of lately Blackfire Wet Diamond. This owner is easy to work with and pays on the first detail of the new year for the entire year of details. I see him once or twice throughout the year but that is it. I have the garage code and the key so I can come and go as my schedule allows. Forming this type of relationship with your customers is very important to me. Hearing other people speak so highly of you and your work is rewarding in itself.

This time around I took a few pictures since it was a beautiful day and he allowed me to drive the car back to the house so I didn`t have to pack my stuff up. He only lives 10minutes away but I like working at the house when I can. Since I see the car often I sometimes tend to test certain areas of the car with different sealants and waxes. The week before I did this particular detail I had received some Dodo Juice Banana Armour Wax from George @ DI. Since the wax is designed and marketed to the brighter and vivid colors I figured I would give it a shot. Durability was not an issue as the car was only driven once since the last detail and still had plenty of sealant.

These pictures are after a ONR Wash/spot clay/Dodo Juice Banana Armour

This process took about 2 hours total with the wheels, tires, final touches, etc. It is so easy to maintain when your the only one working on the car. I did my best to capture some direct sun shots for you guys so you be the judge.

I applied the Dode Juice via Red LC Pad with the PCXP in a very thin coat. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes then came back and wiped away. Very easy product to use.

Remember : NO POLISHING FOR 3 YEARS after initial correction.

These next two pictures are for you, Todd Cooperider!!!

Look at the concentration..I was trying to look in the zone for the picture

I really believe some of these photos have been my best so far with the new camera. I`m excited for the new year with 12 months of crazy write ups and pictures.

Lastly as always, my personal favorite from the collection.

    Yep, that yellow looks great.

On a side note, what camera are you using and how had is it to get pics like that? Auto mode or do you need a general understanding of photography?

These pictures are taken with a Nikon D60 while using a tripod. To really benefit and use the camera`s full potential you will need an understanding of photography. My camera is always in M (Manual Mode) or P (Priority Mode). Then of course always with the manual focus.

    Looks great.

I take care of one like that too and have since new. Luckily, his has was untouched by the dealer and didn`t need much right from the start. Like your customer`s cars, I`m the only one who touches it and still pretty much defect free. I was just over at his house today taking care of it. He just got it back from the shop after having the cam changed.

Outstanding...................and, the best color choice for a C6 Corvette too. I have the EZ Glaze/Opti-Seal combo....now I`ll have to look into Blackfire & DoDo Juice for bright colors. My C5 is Millennium Yellow...........but, no matter. They are both day glow........if it goes, you might as well see it! Now, I NEED that new C6 Grand Sport model..........the perfect replacement for my Z51!!

Thx for the post & the beautiful pictures.......best thread I saw tonight on Autopia!!!! Put a smile on my face!

    See ya. :wavey

DJ...I appreciate you throwing in the MJ-gloved special shots just for me pal!

The car looks great, and it`s awesome to have a relationship like that with your customers. Knowing you the way I do though, it`s no surprise that you`ve built that kind of trust.

Keep up the great work buddy.
