My customer just took over this 4-5 year old 911 and initially he wanted to send the car for a respray but thought he would send the car to me first and see how much improvement can be done to the car. This car had been through quite a number of tracking so basically the whole front is filled with stone chips. Car in such condition you can imagine how much attention was given to maintain the paint work, so basically there were scratches and swirls all over the car.

There is nothing much I can do about the stone chips but I tried my best to remove most of those deep scratches and swirls on the paintwork.

After washing and claying the car I proceed as follow,

    1. IP + purple foam wool + rotary @ 1800rpm

    2. PO106FF + blue foam pad + rotary @ 1400 rpm

    And here’s the result,

    Before

    After

    Before

    After

    Before

    After

    Before

    After

Due to the amount of work involved, I did not take photos on the rest of the area of the cars for the before and after. After all the polishing work, I applied Clearkote Pink Moose to the whole car and followed by Victoria Concours Red Wax by hand with a foam applicator.

By the time I finished it was already quite late and worst of all it was a very cloudy day, so the photos did not really show the actual shine on the car. But still I think the photos turned out reasonably alright and hope you guys will like it.

The car is actually dark maroon in color but due to the poor lighting, the car almost appeared black in color (with a tint of maroon) even when the photos were taken from a short distance away. One of the close-up shots managed to capture the actual color of the car.

Thank you for reading through the posting.

Hi DieselMDX, until today I have done quite a number of detailing work with the rotary already and this is all thanks to rydawg for all the great tips he shared on rotary. The combination I used on this car will solve quite a number of paint defects except when you get those very soft paint which you need to finish off with either 85RD or UF.

Nice job.......My fav. 911=993! Air cooled . That car looks to be between a 1995 to 1997. I believe the color is called Viola....sort of very dark purple. Good job, it sure don`t look like it needs new paint now!

Once again thanks for the compliments .

Btw I have made 2 mistakes in my posting which I need to clarify. First of all this Porsche is actually a 993 like blackboxst has mentioned. Secondly this 993 is actually fourTEEN years old but not four yreas old as I mentioned and again blackboxst is spot on in this area too :xyxthumbs.

After confirming it is a 14 year old car, I can now understand how the car landed in the before condition and I am really please with myself on how the car turned out after the detailing work .

Amazing turnaround. That car is incredible (in the after`s at least), and I agree with the comment about the 993`s being the best 911`s.

Hi CleanGSR, thanks for the compliment and I have to agree with you the 993 looks great especially with the Gemballa tail.
