This is my daily driver, bought new in May, 2000. Parked outside since new, it has racked up 94,000 miles and has been very reliable. Many of you have seen it before, can`t be helped when you only own two vehicles.

I did this outside only detail in 3 and 1/2 hours which is some kind of record for me. :getdown

No befores, paint was in good condition with minimal swirling and micromarring.

    Wash: ONR

Clay: Some blue clay (Smart clay?). Lost the original packaging.

Bugs on bumper: Tried the Surf City Grime remover, spit thick orange droplets all over the bumper and did not seem to remove bugs any better than ONR. Might work better with a hose wash?

Polish: Blackfire SCR Finishing Polish (106ff) with Cyclo Precision white pads and of course Cyclo. Started out on roof and by finish of roof was spitting out gray balls and dusting like mad. It then settled down and did rest of car with no drama. Who knows? Really enjoyed the polishing phase.

LSP: Did Duragloss 601 and then 105 combo. Went on quick, nice easy to use products.

    Hubcaps: Duragloss 105

    Tires: Poorboys Bold and Bright.

Windows: Surf City window cleaner. This stuff is the bomb. I`ve been using Stoner`s IG and Meguiar`s NXT. This stuff is much easier to use and cleans flawlessly. Glad I bought two bottles.

Clouds were coming in along with forecast for rain. This is all the sun available:

    Rest of the pics:

I think the cloudy day gives the pictures a European flair.

Have a safe and happy New Years.

    Thanks for the compliments.

    NCZ13,

If you lived a little closer I would steal your wheels. (Joking of course.) I`ve always liked the Protege 5. I love your wheels.

lol thanks. they are 16x7 rota slipstreams.

properly cared for sunlight silver looks great, and your car is a good example of that.

the only thing i dont like about the p5 is the engine. the 2.0 fsde makes 130 at the crank, and isnt boost friendly w/ stock internals. but man it makes up for it in handling. the cars are underpowered, but are still a blast to drive and manage to put a smile on my face everytime. zoom zoom
