I just finished up a sweet paint detail on a very cool Ferrari............not as cool as todds GTO however.

    Paint was rough so here is what I did;

clayed the car, man it was dirty

blackfire SR compound (sip) and a purple wool

106ff/FP and a blue CCS pad

    menzerna final glaze by hand

    LSP Ultima UPGP 1 coat

Leather cleaned and dressed in CG aloe conditioner

S100 gel on the wheels and tooth bushed

    Polished the wheels

    total 11 hrs

Okay here are the before shots, then the afters, plus some undercarriage shots for your mech types.

From what I can research this is 1 of 37 alloy bodies ever produced of the 250 GT

    Before

    Afters

    Undercarriage

    Engine

    Wheels

What a real treat this was!!

Greg, very nice job on that sweet vintage F car.

Don`t you just love hand polishing all those spoked rims....:hairpull

I`ve been busy but am hoping to get some pics of the 1960 250 I spent 15 hours on up soon.

Great job again, I agree with Todd 100%.

BTW, how did you get those 3 carborators so clean? I couldn`t seem to get mine as good, plus had lots of little fragile wires in the way and such.

It must be boring to always have to detail the same type of car.

So nice. Great work, as always. I really like the lift you use. Great idea.

I thought the name of this thread was swirlinetta scaglietti.

The spoked rims were a pain, they are worth big bucks and you cannot mess up. I found that S100 and allowed to dwell worked great. I just busted out the toothbrush and went to town.

The carbs were in pretty good shape, again cleaning them with a toothbrush and lots of patience did the trick.

I can`t wait to see your pictures josh.
