This civic had less than 60,000 miles on it, but boy did it have advanced aging syndrome. The paint was horrible, the interior was worse, and the truck smelled like it had hauled around a dead body. Sounds fun, huh?

The front bumper, front left quarter panel, and front driver’s side door had been repainted less than a week ago. They must have washed with a push broom. This was some of the worst work that I have seen.

    Here you go.

Notice how they just left the sanding marks below the headlights.

Same here, they just stopped sanding and called it a day, notice the dull spot on the left.

Nice little scratch from their washing tool, THIS IS BRAND NEW PAINT!!!!!!

This is after I had washed and clayed, look at that scratch!!!

This is what the rest of the paint looked like, it looked BETTER than the new paint!!

Now for the afters. The process was as follows.

    Wash

    clay

Optimum compound with a meguiars cutting pad @1500 RPM’s

Did not remove left over compound

Optimum polish with a meguiars cutting pad @1200 RPM’s

Optimum polish via cyclo and green pads, removed with OCW

    OCW

Glass was cleaned with NXT and a WW

Tires dressed with Hyper dressing 1:1 (best water based dressing that I have ever used, awesome, thanks for the sample Sean, I bought a gallon Friday)\

    Sanding marks are gone

The motor was degresed with “magnum†degreser (local purchase)

    Agitated with EZ detail, PW’ed

Dressed with EO pro WB dressing cut 50/50.

The underside of the hood was waxed with colorX

For the interior I had to really pull out all the stops.

    Vac

Apply EO pro carpet and upholstery cleaner

Mix hot water and HT protein powder

    Apply hot water to carpet

Brush, suck out with shop vac

The vinyl was cleaned with Costco APC 10:1, then dressed with Meguiars #40

This was the water from the rear driver’s side.

Very nice work. I have that same vac (I think), what do you do when you vacuum that much water? Do you remove the filter or do something else?

Damn. Those engine pics are insane - that`s like the cleanest engine I`ve ever seen, especially considering the befores... Uhg. Are you going to put this in the contest this month? Any other month and you would probably walk away with it, but then there is Steve`s mustang....

Good heavens, what a great job!

Seems like more and more of us are *not* always removing the compound after initial rotary work.

It came out absolutely insane !! The interior looks like a Jeep Liberty I cleaned this past week. Absolutely disgusting. Great transformation on the interior, exterior and engine.

What did the owner say when he saw it?
