1 Clean WS6 - why megs #80?

I`m really sure that Lola was beautiful before you started this detail so I`m wondering why you would go with Megs #80. I`ve read that it is not as abrasive as the number on the bottle (4?) but couldn`t you`ve gotten by with Machine Glaze #3. Excuse me in that I have not used #80 yet but it does not seem logical to start with #80, I know that Scottwax and others love it but they are starting with customers cars that were not usually as pristine as yours.

pdsterns I have never used #3 so I can not comment on it. #80 is an excellent polish in that it breaks down quickly and produces a very wet gloss with minimal dusting. It is slightly more aggressive than #82 but not as aggressive as #83.



The reason I used #80 is because the WS6 had not been polished (or even had a PC on it) since she was taken out of daily driver status and garaged in 2002. All I have been doing to that car for the past 2+ years has been layering Meg`s products by hand. The most aggressive polish it had seen up until its recent combo was Meg`s #81 Hand Polish...applied by hand.



Since I was going to use another brand of products (Poorboys) and since the car had not been polished in 2+ years the clay bar, the PC and #80 came out to play.

I`m definately considering #80 on my car because I have been so impressed with the pictures on this board. Did you use a yellow pad WS6? I still have some dealer installed swirls on my RSX and #82 with a yellow pad didn`t remove them. My plan of attack is:



Mothers clay (I never got around to claying the car)

#80 (yellow pad)

VM Glaze (white pad)

Natty`s (by hand)

If it has been more than 3 months since the last deep polishing on my own car, I start with #80. The paint on my 626 seems to be softer than the paint on my Accord was and it tends to pick up more spider swirling and minor scuffing.



On other cars, I may deep polish once a year.
