can anyone recommend a good shareware version of some software I can use to resize digital pics to put on this board?

Im no comp techy type so the easier to use the better for me, in other words, no complicated software - only need it to resize.

    Scottwax turned me onto XAT.com

Trial version works well but there is a small learning curve.

The guys here recommended this freebie to me. It`s great...prolly the best freebie software in the past few years. I use it a lot and like it `cause you can batch process large groups of jpegs in one shot! Super easy to use.

I use IrfanView for everything except resizing. It will work for that. It`s just that I prefer Easy Thumbnails for quick resizing. They`re both free and both work great.

For years I have been paying to use Firehand Ember, an excellent graphics viewer. (I also have Infanview, which is nice.)

Just last week they released Version 7 Max, for paying customers, and Firehand Free, for everybody else. The free version does just about everything you would want (as far as I can tell -- since I`m still using the Max version), and there is no charge. I think it has more features than Infanview, but I`m not sure.

You can try it at www.firehand.com --- follow the links to Firehand Ember Ver 7 Free Edition.

Another good freeware is Picasa. It has just been acquired by Google.

The free version of Ember does not allow resizing or any type of editing.

The free image optimizer is pretty good, the pay version has more features. I take 1800 x 1200 1 MB pics and take them down to 750 x 500 and about 60-80k in size and still have outstanding resolution.
