    Hello all!!

I got spoiled again as the client dropped their vehicle off at my house!! I LOVE working on my home turf!! I always go out of my way to throw in a couple "freebies" when clients do this since it benefits me tremendously. I can go about with my normal mobile appointments during the day then come home and work on their car at my own pace at night (drinking coffee and listening to late night AM radio )...very cool indeed. :up

The vehicle is a 99 Mustang GT 5-speed. It`s a daily driver with about 85K on the odo. It is not garaged and had not been waxed in a good while. For a car with this mileage it was very well cared for...just some good swirling and a few stains on the carpet...but overall very clean. Unfortunately, it did have some moderate acid rain etching that I was not able to completely remove as the spots were pretty deep into the clear. I tried a few new products out on this car. Below is my description of the detail with pics.

    Enjoy,

    Mike

    Wash with Meg`s NXT shampoo

Clay with Wolfgang`s clay bar using Meg`s #34 as a lubricant. This was my first use of their clay bar. It is grey in color, very soft and quite pliable. I liked their clay but I still prefer the Mother`s clay as it seems to grab more contaminants than the Wolfgang bar.

Polish with Meg`s #83 with a Meg`s 8006 pad and my PC set at 6. The car had moderate swirling, acid rain damage and a few deeper scratches. The DACP eliminated the swirling and made the deep scratches and acid rain etching much less noticeable.

Glaze with Wolfgang`s Pre-Wax Polish Enhancer by hand with a foam applicator. I don`t know why people have had problems with this product...it was very user friendly for me. Yes, it is thick but it still applies easy enough and removal was just as easy. The finish it left was very slick to the touch and had a nice gloss to it.

Seal with Wolfgang`s Deep Gloss Paint Sealant by hand with a foam applicator. Very impressed with this product. :up Super easy application and removal (I let the product set on the paint for about 30 minutes before I removed it). The look is indeed very much carnauba like...deep and very glossy. I kicked myself for not trying this product sooner!!

Top with Meg`s #16. This was one of the freebies I threw in for the client. I applied it by hand about 8 hours after the Wolfgang sealant was applied. Since I knew the car would be outside I wanted to give the Stang that last little bit of protection and for a carnauba #16 is one of the most durable products I own. It did not really add any more depth to the paint but did enhance the gloss and wet look of the Wolfgang sealant.

Rims were polished with Eagle One Never Dull then sealed with Meg`s #20. Tires have Meg`s Endurance High Gloss, the trim has Meg`s Natural Shine and the exterior glass has ClearKote`s VM.

Curious, my 03 Mach 1 has ridiculous orange peel... how was this car? My buddy`s 01 does as well... but everyone I know Pre-98 has no orange peel in there paint. I`m trying to figure it out if it`s an all 99+ Mustang thing or just certain cars

Excellent work! I`ve been pretty happy with Wolfgang too and I`ve also topped it with #16 per customer`s request.

I agree that the precleaner is much easier to use with a foam hand pad instead of the supplied MF pad but it is even easier using a PC in case you want to go that route.

mike, i think you should name your detailing business `pony detailing` (or something similar) cause of all the beautiful pony cars you`ve detailed! the first picture is just awesome! it looks so wet! and what kind of rims are those, chrome bullits? or cragar ss?

that is just one awesome stang, nice stance, nice rims, and best of all, a nice detail!

my `04 Mach1 also has a lot of orange peel. part of the hood, and the majority of the rear has it. it really sucks and i would have my ford dealer try to fix it but i`m afraid they`ll just make it worse.
