This is a horse trailer that I detailed the other day.

Look at what I had to start with:

Here, I have already washed the whole trailer and have polished one half with Meguiars DACP and Clearkote`s Vanilla Moose. Slight difference on the polished side, eh?

Both sides are now polished. Since Vanilla Moose contains wax and the owner didn`t want me to do anything more than necessary to bring it back to life, this was only a two step job. I normally would have made it a 3 step job at least...but I`m doing what they are willing to pay for.

The non shiny part around the door handle is just crappy paint work, probably why the owner just wanted what was needed to get some shine back.

Here we have the finished product. Again, the only two products I used were DACP and Vanilla Moose....and all by hand! Took me a little more than 3 hours.

Excellent job, that DACP is something else : Do you look for these projects or they just know you ?

Anyway , what was your most challenging wax job to date?

Just curious, Vanila Mouse paste or liquid, I am not familiar with Vanila mouse:wavey

Anyways, looks amazing like always. I can`t wait to get my DACP to see what this stuff is all about...

I hope you didn`t have to an "interior detail" of the trailer...something about used oats that would make the job a tad more difficult!!!

Nice work, Scott. I did a horse trailer maybe 2 years ago. It didn`t turn out nearly as well, then again the one I did was twice the size.

explorer-Vanilla Moose is a liquid. It is a light polish (probably between a swirl remover and a glaze) and it has a petroleum based wax. I would have topped it with S100 or Carnauba Moose, but the guy didn`t want to spend anymore than he had to (and obviously, that `thriftiness` extended to the single stage, low quality paint job as well). He just wanted it to shine for a horse show they have to attend next week and the trailer matches the paint on their Escalade.

This was not the worst paint I`ve seen, and since the other side doesnt` face the sun, it wasn`t as faded.

fidelis-After I finished, I went out to the park and skated 18 miles. I`ve been doing this so long, once I am finished, I get my second wind pretty quickly.

    Gonzo-nope, no interior detail!

Corey-I did a 30 foot horse trailer a few years ago. It wouldn`t have been so bad if it hadn`t been parked near the stables and I had to deal with the flies the whole time I was there. On the plus side, it had a much better paint job than this one did.

:lol I think the combination of detailing and then skating in the evening (14 miles tonight) work together. I`m only 42-years-young anyway!
