    BMW gets a "Cyclone detail"

    Hi friends

Sharing with you a detail job that was carried out last year.

This beauty was in need of shine and gloss. She was accompanied by another guest..... "Cyclone Imelda"

    letting the pics speak.

    On arrival

    Front view

    And the “big boss” inspecting

    Wash
    Tools n products:
Local MPC and car wash shampoo, Wheel brush and small detailing brush, Microfiber wash mitt, Soft MF towels, Uber clay
All done using the 2BM method

    Starting with the wheels

    The paintwork

    Water clinging on the surface

    Claying

The clay bar after one section. It finally got worn completely.

The windscreen.... initially looking like bird droppings but looking at it closely....

Flakes coming out of the glass..... what this is?

This was taken care of with Menz old skool PG S34A on LC orange spot pad via the Makita.

    Corrected windscreen

WET WET WET "Love is all around"
Do you remember the lyrics? How about this one?
    Imelda is all around

    Swirls and RIDS

    Paintwork correction:
    Tools n products:
    • Makita rotary with LC orange, white & black pads
    • Menz old skool PG S34A, 203s, PO 85rd, PoweLock Sealant

    Corrected

    The Hood

    Corrected

    The roof

Oxidation, bird dropping stains. Swirls and RIDS are there but not captured by the camera in cyclonic weather

    The roof after

    Mirror! Mirror!

    After correction and refining

just need to complete a wipe off to shine like a mirror, same as the driver`s side

Only 1 pic, it was clearer than what is captured by the camera due to the persistent rain, moist and wind.

Re: BMW gets a "Cyclone detail"

Detail completed... in the company of an uninvited guest.... waiting for rain to stop to take some shots... but it wasn`t to be....

Started to dry, but getting wet all the time thanks to Imelda

WET WET WET! Imelda is all around

WET WET WET! Beads are all around

Thanks for reading. Your thoughts are most welcome.

    Cheers

The flakes coming out of your clear coat pic, looks to me that something with a high acid splattered onto the car. Like a bird dropping or a big bug and it wasn`t removed and over time etched into the clear coat. Nothing short of repainting can fix that.

    That`s the windscreen.

It`s sort of mineral or lime deposit coming from a leakage in the garage ceiling. That`s what the owner said.

Here we used to mix building materials with sand for construction. So I`m guessing it`s the salt from the sand in the concrete ceiling

Why is the front right wheel/tire different than the other three?
    • Stirling Moss once said “There are two things no man will admit he cannot do well: drive and make love.”

    • But then the smarter Albert Einstein said, “Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.”

That wheel had been changed by the owner.
